Stock tank? Year One comes to mind but there are other sources.
Malicious, vindictive, spiteful, cynical, pessimistic, sarcastic, & antagonistic. And those are my good traits!

Go to your local UAP/NAPA they carry the sending units.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Mike
I know you didn't ask, and you most likely already know, but I'll throw this out there anyway.

Make sure that baby is grounded correctly and don't be surprised if you have to adjust the float arm to get the gauge to read correctly. unfortunately these aren't always plug and play.

Please note there are different mfg.s of these sending units as well as SS ones.

Bill Allphin sells the best quality ones although I dont see them listed on his site anymore.... :scratchchin:

I don't wan't to hi-jack the therad, but has anyone spliced an in-tank fuel pump onto an origional style sending unit?  I think it would be much easier and quieter than the external type.  Maybe I should start a side business. :scratchchin:

There's some good info in this thread about the different sending units that are out there...

I got a mine (supposedly the good one) from Rock Auto for 70-something bucks, shipped.  The part number is  FG68B, you can find it online here   http://www.rockauto.com/

Hey Mike, There have been several of the guys on the General Lee board have run into the aftermarket sending units and/or tanks leaking at the gasket. I have a buddy with a 70 Charger R/T and he has the same trouble, a buddy of his has a 69 Charger 383 and has the same problem. BOTH of these guys replaced the tank AND unit at the same time.

I bought the whole setup for my 66, so I am not sure what I am going to run into yet.

Good luck!
