Hello Everyone, long time no post. :D

Finally got around to disassembling my charger (finally built the shed to store all the parts). I just pulled the engine out, but the torque converter came with it, and I can't get it off. Any suggestions on how to get it off? I've been wedgine 2x4's into it to try and force it off but with no luck.

Thanks

Should be a couple of bolts on the backside , next to the block. If you've already got them I'd say you need a bigger 2x4  :P

theres 4 bolts on the backside of the convertor (backside = engine side) agreed on getting a new flexplate. you probably bent the crap out of it.

The flex plate wasn't even on there at all. Yeah, the former owner of this car is a complete moron. But that's another story...

OK now youve got me confused. I need a pic to see what your talking about. How in the hell did the guy attach the convertor to the engine if its not bolting onto the flexplate?!?!? it goes engine, flywheel, converter. without a flexplate the converter cant bolt on.

terrible one

Yep, as 01 said. Are you sure you aren't misjudging the flexplate and torque converter as being one unit?

Rack

Yep, I'm an idiot. The flex plate was there, I was calling something else the flex plate that had nothing to do with what I thought I was talking about. :D

I got the 4 bolts off and everything is doing ok... for now.

Thanks!
