How far does the clutch plate need to back off from flywheel when pushed?

I have just installed a new clutch kit in my Charger and I am wondering just how far the clutch plate needs to back off from the flywheel on a 440 4speed car when you step on the clutch pedal?
It is a diaphragm type clutch.

I dont think I have my clutch adjusted right as it doesnt seem like the clutch plate is backing off from the flywheel when pushed.

Depends partly on what your doing with the car, Street or track but about an .080 gap should be good, good luck.
