about different size fuel lines

I'm needing a new fuel sender. Found a CHEAP dealer, who list 71-72 5/16" fuel sender without return line and 71/73 3/8" with return line. both same price.

beside the line itself, Is the fuel pump different too ? if so, How do I notice the different fuel pump ?

I'm thinking on get the bigger with return line even my car doesn't have return line. Just will seal the return line by the moments and maybe install a return line when I make the stroke, if I build someday.

I'm not really sure what size of line has my car or what pump do I have.

another question... I'm pretty sure all 71/74 and in fact laters too are same fuel sender, but dealer states those years. Already sent an email asking that, but... Am I right about all 71/74 fuel senders are the same and dealer is wrong  ?( with lines size difference of course )

When I replaced my sender last summer there were two sizes. The small blocks got the smaller 5/16" size and the big blocks got the 3/8" size if I remember correctly. If you plan on engine improvements I would get the 3/8" which you probably already have. I dont know about any of the rest of your questions.

Actually the 3/8 was only used on 440 , 440+6 & Hemis , but there is no harm in using the 3/8 pick up & blocking the return line off , your car will have the 5/16 line now

Yes I checked Mopar parts dealer catalog. So I guess the complete line is 3/8" too when 440, 440+6 and Hemis ?

Is there some difference between fuel pumps with one or another fuel line visible from exterior ?. I know I use 1/2" wrench to release the nut that fits the output line.

I'm not familiarized with SAE mesurements when we talk about measure something, just familiarized with wrenchs and bolts/nuts sizes.

And about fuel sender interchange... is the same or interchangeable between all 3rd gens ? I checked 71 parts catalog on line and my 74 catalog and they have different PN but they coul be just a supersedes numbers.

As stated, dealer sells 71-72 5/16" and 71-73 3/8". Not sure about 71/72s but I have parted out couple of 73 down here an they look EXACTLY the same than my 74.

Really would like to hear opinions... I got a quote for double for one USA made, still cheaper than other dealers, but dunno if take the risk about this one.

Some of you guys have reference about this dealer or its products ?

Mine came from Rock Auto. No problems with it so far. I wish I had bent the float arm a little before I put it in because my gauge reads just over 3/4 full when the tank is full to the top.
