73 getting close no pics

Well, I dropped the 73 off about three weeks ago all rot from the rear quarters has been cut out and new sheet metal fabricated and welded in, new door hinges installed and doors aligned front fenders have been worked driver side is on, pass side is almost ready had to take two fenders and make a good one lots of cutting and welding, I sand blasted the bumpers (they will be painted body color) Air grabber hood has been worked and is ready to be shot and installed deck lid has been primmed, Go wing installed and is ready to be installed, Trunk, inner fenders and door jams have been painted, and the work so far looks great.  the guy says two more weeks it should be done.  He is going to tape and paint on my stripes, but I have not decided exactly what to go with.  Its between the Horizontal side stripe for a 73 with the round super bee decal placed in the stripe on the quarters, or a bumble bee stripe with super bee emblem much like a 69 bee.  From my previouse exsperience with body shops I am very excited.  He is taking pictures as he goes and I hope to post some in the next few weeks.  Just excited and wanted to share.

Sounds like things are going real good.  I'd be interested in seeing your bumpers when finished. Thinking seriously about painting mine.

i should have some pictures to post in about a week,  I saw a 71 satelite with color keyed bumpers and thats what got me going, that and the price of rechroming

post some before and after.  I am in the middle of the exact same restore with my 73.  I cant shell out money for a good camera right now.  All my shells are going into this bucket.

I feel you, along with the color keyed bumpers Sublime, I painted the grill and tail lights and bumper filler flat black and eliminated those ugly bumperets.

Cant wait to see it.  Sounds like it will be a pretty sweet ride.  No bumperettes on mine either.  Have you thought about eliminating the filler altogether?  I also found that adding hideaways and R/T taillights is a nice way to add something extra to it.  Not only do they look better, but I like the fact that they are metal rather than plastic.

I have cleaned and painted my fillers flat black and I have done the same for the Grill.  I think it will look real good with the sublime bumpers.  I painted the tail lights flat black as well but I really wish I could get a set of 72 Rallye tail lights and lenses.  A friend of mine picked up a set just the other day for $200.  I would have jumped all over that.
