Just wondering if I should trade my 1970 challenger 318 convertible complete but non-running needs full resto  rusted badly in floors, cowl, quarters but good frame rails for a 1969 charger factory sunroof car 383 auto solid but a roller. What is the factory sunroof car worth? thanks

I would do it.  Aren't sunroof cars pretty rare?

Yea, the factory sunroof 2nd gen Chargers are very rare. I can't tell you how rare but they are rare. Someone around here will know for sure.

DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE ABOUT AN EVEN TRADE?  THE CHARGER IS SOLID NEEDING QUARTERS. THE CHALLENGER HAS A SAG IN THEBODY WHEN BOTH DOORS OPEN?

bordin34

I would keep the challenger. I think convertibles are cooler and rarer. Besides it only a 2nd gen.

terrible one

From what you describe, it sounds like your Challenger is in worse condition than the Charger you are talking about. When you say a roller, does this mean it is missing the engine and transmission, or that it just doesn't run? I think that the Charger would be more rare, and maybe worth more in the end, but personally I would rather have the convertable!

For starters im a 68-70 b-body nut The charger is a roller no engine or drive train. Missing interior. But has all the sunroof pieces. It a solid car, quarters both need replacement due to big dents. The 70 challenger convertible is complete but was sitting for 15 years in a building where racoons lived in the interior. So the complete interior is shot and the car smells BAD. The floors and cowl are rotted, so if you open the doors the doors drop from this, the lower quarters are rotted and door smashed. The rails are all soild.

i'd take the sunroof car personally. but then again your ebody could be suffering from poor factory alignment. after all they weren't put together all that well to begin with.... kidding

just my nickel's worth, but it sounds like the Charger could be a driver for what the Challenger would need to just get back to being a decent body again.

Then again I'm a little biased, but I'd be ALL ABOUT the Charger.

Well now, you ARE talking to a bunch of Charger-oriented people here, but you knew that, huh? I would have to take the sunroof because of personal preference and a distaste for so much rust and raccoon poop.

I was in shock when I learned my friend sold his B5 Blue Auto Sunroof car on eBay for only 12,500!!!   I'm still shocked...  And he threw-in a Original Charger R/T 440 engine block...

71ChallengeHer

Production # on 1970 Challenger Vert V8's  -  2543  That's what I found so far. It might be wrong.  But in the condition of both cars , I'd have to go with the Charger.

WheresMyCharger

Production of '70 Challenger R/T verts is 1,070. But as stated the clones are bringing good money. If your looking to invest, the Challenger may bring more money. If its an even trade, go for the Charger.
Have you seen my old '69 Charger??

the challenger is a 318 auto car. not an R/T ive seen them go for about 10-12k rusted. What do you think the charger is worth as-is?

Although I love chargers, I have always ranked e-body convertibles the highest on my wanted list. :-\
