Its really hard to say without pics but it sounds like its worth it to me.  They are climbing in value all the time.   :2thumbs:

is it anything special other than being a charger,, i looked at the fnder tag and its not rusted at all but  it only has 2 letters on it they say  SS    i assume the car came with 2 tags and one is missing

Its a number matching big block car and it has power windows.  Those are the things that stand out to me from the info you gave.  Keep in mind that 73 SE cars were are the most common of the 66-74 Chargers (going off the production numbers).

Hard to say without any pictures, but it sounds like it is well worth the $1000.  I would offer $800 and see if he bites,  If not, I would give him the $1000 and take my car home.  I wish my 73 had power windows.

By the sound of it I would say it was worth it. As stated the value of the 3rd Gens is just starting to rise. I paid that for my 73 Hardtop 7 years ago.

Agreed.  I bought my 74 SE in April for 800 and I've had two locals stop and offer me twice that for it.  If you don't buy, tell me and I'll go get it ;)

Sounds like a deal to me.  Our 73 Hardtop cost us $1200 4 years ago in similiar condition.  Ours isn't a big block though.
