Most of you probably already know this but, Easter is the biggest holiday for Christians.

Easter celebrates the thing that sets Christianity apart from all other world religions. No other religion claims that their main prophet dies and ten comes back from the dead. Other religions prophets die and stay dead. Jesus was seen by nearly 500 people after he rose from the dead and they weren't all his followers.

Happy Easter!!

I hate to break it to you, but resurrection is far from being exclusive to Christianity.

The resurection of dead isn't what Easter is about. Its the reason for the resurection. Others have been raised from the dead, but not a single one predicted that they would be raised from the dead 3 days after they die, and then actually do it.
The purpose of the resurection is what sets Christianity apart from the other religions. The reason for christ to die, and then to raise from the grave. That reason?

GRACE

By grace we are saved, through Christ Jesus, who died for our sins. By faith we believe, and through grace we are saved.

Any of them stilll around to testify to that? I'm sure there are at least 500 people alive today who claim to have seen and been abducted by UFO's.

Happy "All Is Ours" day.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Part of being a Christian is the belief of the true fact that Jesus was the son of God..here to save us from our sins....He died to save us..He didn't wan to die on the cross, didn't have to die on the cross....But He did for you and me..that is what we are celebrating today...the truth that we are loved so much that God gave us His only son and Jesus loved us so much that he GAVE us His life so that we could spend eternity with Him.  Just remember: He tells us to take him body and blood and eat it so we can have a part of Him, He sacraficed His body so we can all be the Body of Christ....We are the Body...Now Go and Love One Another.....and Make Disciples.

Mojo,

More info on your statement.

Thanks!

There are a lot of other religions in which stories of resurrection are an essential canon. Christianity isn't the only one. Like Chargerwife said, it's an article of faith and that's where we should leave it. Either you believe it or you don't. Get a good book on comparative religion...you'd be surprised at how much you will learn.

Otherwise, to expand on what John Kunkel said, a lot of people still see Elvis and Hitler.
