how would a 66 or 67 GTO front end look on a 73 charger?

Ok I know I am gonna get heat over this one, but I like the looks of the GTO head light and front fender set up.  I like the way the GTO looked on Triple X State of the Union, and thought that front end would look sweet on a charger and since I have this extra charger sitting in my yard I want to rebuild it with its own look.

Stormhammer

.....

I wonder who'd shoot you first

a Charger owner

or a GTO owner

it would NOT look good at all - Charger's have curves and the 3rd gens are semi fastback

the 2nd Gen GTO was build w/o curves, and with 60s styling, not the early 70s fuselage style - it wouldnt look right at all, nor do I think it'd look that good either ( my opinion thats all )

plus the work involved? oh    my    god

sell that extra Charger and save up and buy a GTO  ;)

what ever, I am going to do it anyways,   knew I would get shit on for saying it, same ole thing to, oh what you smokin! *dorky laugh* hu hu hu!! I have a buddy with a 67 GOAT that was rear ended pretty bad that the frame is unfixable, I am going to cut off the front end and modify it to fit on my charger, when its all done and I show pics you people will be singing a whole different tune!!

Ghoste

Hey, maybe it'll look so bad, you'll get a job offer from Trevor Creed. ;D

I have a 67 GTO I'm parting out right now. The body and floors are excellent. Save allot of trouble and buy the GTO body from me and save two classics. Once you start to try and put that front end on your Charger you will stop before your even done. The task will be much more then you realize and you will be over wellmed by all the work. With the experience that you have under your belt and the amount of money in your bank account. Put the Charger up for sale and let someone else put the car together. Then with the money you get from selling the Charger, go back to school and do something with your life.

BigBlackDodge

What would it be called then???

Charger GTO?
GTO RT?
Dodge GTO............hmm.........lol
RT/O?

Anything can be done if you throw enough money at it. :icon_smile_cool:

You do know that you will have to cut off all the inter fender's to mount the Goat clip right? You know that your Charger is a Unabody right? You know what will happen when you cut out the inner fender's? Hit a good bump and the front subframe will fold like a lawn chair. Inner fender's is what help's make the frame stiff.

If you start this project, better have a strong stomach and deep pockets. But you be the only person with a Pondge. ;D

Wow Drop Top, that is my favorite year GTO.

If someone was going to do something along those lines, I think the '67 nose would mate best with the 2nd generation Charger. 3rd gens would work best with the late 60's type GTO nose. Not encouraging this, but it would make for some neat model building or Photoshop fun.

wouldnt it just be alot easier to fabricate a 69 charger rear tail panel onto a 67 goat,  the cars pretty much have the same body lines, but please if you ever did become stupid enough to try this, use a tempest and not a goat.

moparguy01

I also think it would look absolutely terrible. but i dont like those monstrosity cars. theres a mid 90s thunder turd running around with a 1950 mercury front clip on it. looks TERRIBLE!

and you have to severly reinforce the front end when you swap stubs like that, as cudaken said, if you dont your gonna hit a bump and have it fold like a lawn chair.

but its your car, do whatever you want. but i guarantee you that i wont be singing a different tune if you ever go through with it. you may as well put a 06 charger front end on it......

Stormhammer

moparguy01... you just did NOT call a GTO a monstrousity... that bombah thunderbird, yea - but NEVER disgrace a GTO - EVER  :flame:

go ahead and make the car, you will not be accepted by either the GTO or Charger community with it.  Your just fricken crazy is all.  But hey it is your money, so go ahead and show the world your frankenstein.  the looks of it will stop others from doing it in the future.  People always need good examples ya know.

ill disgrace whatever the hell i want to. BUT if you would read alittle better, youd realize i was talking about monstrosity cars as the messes that occur when people put 2 cars together that have absolutely no similar bodylines whatsoever.

I just got a Packard front clip, I like to sell the front clip of my 68 Road Runner for $50.00 with shipping. That should cover the cost of sticking on the Packard's front clip.  Hood will hide the 3 225's leaning tower of power blowen 2 barrel's I am dropping in. Also making it all wheel drive. Got a great deal on a Dodge Ram 4X4 frame that will fit a B-body! ;D Heck got the whole Charger with no Vin Tag for $100.00 and has the custome transfer case as well!

Pulling the seat's and goinging to make them out of Cam 2 cans.

Belech, and Troy save the site for this kind of posting?
