Basically, what the title says. It would be nice to see some responses from people that have put a big block together in the last 2 or 3 months. Not in the last 2 or 3 years or longer

I have Speed pro L2355F60 Forged Aluminum Pistons in a 440.
Cylinder wall to piston clearance is .0015

Federal Mogul tech line said .001. Which is written on the box is fine. Skirts are coated.

And no I have not installed and ran this engine yet.

small block with forged aluminum called for .005 clearence, which seemed like a lot to me.

We did a 440 late last fall with a Speedpro L2355F coated piston and if I remember right it's been awhile but I think they stated a certain bore size that they wanted and when you measured the piston and did the math it came out to around .00275" clearance.

Mine has the older style 2355 speedpro slugs w/o the coating. Piston to wall clearance is .0075

From what I know the coating is for piston scuff, it has nothing to do with the pistons expanding, they are going to grow as they get hotter, again, good luck.
