I have found a 80's model rv with a 440 and transmission, I know the engine can be used, but is the transmission the same one that is used in a car? The guy says its a 727. :-\

The RV 727 will often have a tailhousing mounted parking brake. If that's case, the output shaft and tailhousing will need to be changed for use in a passenger car.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Your right John it does have the parking brake on it, can the drive shaft be changed or will the tail end of the transmission need to be changed? And thanks for the help.

The only way to use the rigid yoke tail (even if it would fit in a car) is to build a driveshaft with a slip joint. I've never been a fan of them, best to change the back iof the trans to passenger car parts.

Thanks for the advice John, I think I'll buy the engine. :yesnod:
