Rene, do you think that adding the extra length to the left headlamp vacuum line to match the length of the right vacuum line would help synchronize the opening? Vacuum is much like a liquid in that it has to fill or in this case evacuate the area inside the line. A longer line would mean that it would take longer to evacuate. The closing action has gravity to help so they tend to go down at the same rate.
Just an idea. I might be all wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.  :icon_smile_big:

QuoteI like the pic from the front. Just says..."badass"

i agree , it shows off the daytona's lines in that shot . the 60 something year  old lady from down the block said it was a sexy car .

I've known this women for 20 yrs and she's maybe said 10 words to me in that time . wing cars are funny creatures . I've put 300 miles on the car in the last 2 weeks . she's a beast . runs great but very thirsty.

i went out to my friends shop that did my rear glass conversion and he explained to me how to install the nose to fender  gaskets . i was having a real hard time with that . it seams i was putting them on backwards . now i understand how they go . thats next on the list .

I'm really digging this car and having a lot of fun with it . Rene

Did you keep the retainers from the original fender gaskets?

My new hollow aluminum wing that Dane built arrived this week. That is the nicest wing that I have ever seen in my life. It makes my real superbird wing look like crap in comparison.
It's sitting on the pool table right now. As soon as I get time I'm going to assemble it and take some pics. Thanks for talking me into buying one.

Did you install all of the seals inside the nose? I keep forgetting that I'll have to install the seals as I install the nose on my car. If I'm going to drive this thing to Talladega next year, I don't want it overheating. We've made a list of all of the stuff that we're going to do to the car since we've started talking about driving it to Alabama. I still don't see how these cars can sit in traffic and not overheat.

i knew you would appreciate the quality of that wing .  i noticed today  that the car has more body roll then it use to .with the wing on the back and the weight of the  nose in front. that's on the list to improve .

no i didn't use the  complete gasket set while assembling the nose . i am gonna add a front inner fender with that think gasket material  , so no dirt and crap will get into the nose area .

i was stuck in traffic today coming back from Jacks shop for about 30 minutes and she run at about 180 all day but it was a cool day. i can see if you decide to put a real hot motor in this car . you might run into trouble . i wouldn't go with more then 30 over on any motor going into a wing car .

i'm taking my southern belle  that's  your old superbee  , to the track next week . just to play a little. she's turned into a hell of a  good driver .

That's great. I've been tinkering around with the runner a little.  I found a correct air cleaner at the Mopar show in S.L.. I need to order a new headliner for the runner as well as a new pie pan. The new motor needs a little tuning and the trans kickdown linkage needs a little adjustment to be just right.
It's getting cooler around here, so we've been getting the cars out and driving them.
As for the daytona clone, we plan to get back on it hot and heavy as soon as we get back from SEMA. The plan is to have it finished by the end of the year. We just realized that if we're going to hook the a/c back up, we need to get it over to the a/c shop before we install the front sheet metal and nose. I figure we can use the a/c as long as we're moving down the highway. Hopefully the condensor won't block the air too much while idling in traffic. I wish this car was a non a/c car so that I could just leave it alone.

If I have time, we're going to try to install the new wing this afternoon. Pics will follow.

Better get cracking that whip larry. It looks like Rene has his almost finished. You better get that wing on there and don`t be slackin`. Stay away from that mex eatumup joint. I would love to be there now to have some good mexican food instead I have fish and chips. You need to have the rest of it painted by the time I get back.
By the way Rene,  your car looks great! Saw the bee  before it migrated north and you are right it is a great driver. :popcrn:

Rene had to work the bugs out of it. It had been sitting in my shop for years. I would start it every once in a while and drive it around the neighborhood. I had to choose between keeping it or the 69 runner and I've always liked the runners a little better. The runner is a B5, 383 auto on the floor with buckets and a/c. The bee is a B5, 383 auto on the column with bench and no a/c.

Howie, do you not have e-mail access while in London?

thanks for all the kind words guys ,

the tona  is a great driver too . i can drive her anywhere . all my cars are that way i get them mechanically tight before i do the bodies . like that i can play with them . while i build them .

i want to have this car ready for the winged warriors meet in Virgina next June  . i talked to Jack and he said he would like to go . that would be cool driving down there with 3 or 4 wing cars .

i plan on upgrading the tires , suspension and getting the headliner done during the winter .
