Thats the concept car from 65. My friend was telling me about this...he said they made 3 of them, one is on display at headquarters, one was stolen off the lot---some guy just took it!, and the third one ''mysteriously'' went over a cliff in a semi and blew up---they found semi remains, but absolutely nothing of that charger....but i dont have any proof of that so if someone wants to investigate that some more

UFO

I guess that showcar was inspiration for this custom(from 1972)

As far as I know, they only made one.   It was called the Charger II and it was done AFTER they had the 66 Charger in the can.  They realized it looked nothing like the Charger I show car (see Learicals post) and they should promote it.  So, they took a 66, boogered it up a little and voila, a concept car.  They took it to a couple of auto shows and so forth and then "introduced" the 66 becauseof consumer interest in the ChargerII.  It's been missing for a long time and there are a few fastback people trying to locate it.

Had never seen the 65 concept car before :icon_smile_big:

it has been several threads about all Charger concepts, but there was in fact a 65 "Charger" that was an optional package to 65 Darts 2 doors.

Want another Dart-Charger connection?  The little sideways arrow symbol that appears on our cars was originally meant as a Dart symbol.  Carl Cameron had created it when he was working on the Dart and the decision was made not to use it.  When he styled the 66 Charger he found a new home for the little arrow.

Cool, I didn't know that.
