Dash Chrome (Top)

I have read several threads on how the dash panels can be re-chromed and painted or you can use modeling foil for the chrome, etc. I am going the cheap route for now and painting the items such as the radio bezel myself. The black is done.

One thing I can not see on any photos is related to the chrome on the top of these pieces. As you look at them you see the front of top face is chrome. What about the bottom face of that same "overhang" of plastic. Chrome or Black?
