put in a post when u get them, what other parts are you coming out with? thanks

Anders

I just ordered 3 point seat belts from wesco performance(http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/). I'm going to install them on my 68 , which has no factory thread in the headliner, it does have the mounting hole but there is nothing to bolt on. They are selling the hardware kits, which include all the bolts and even the mounting plate for the headliner if your car didnt have it from the factory. They have installation instructions on their web site and it doesn't look too complicated.

Anders:

I have the Wesco 3-point belts in my car and they're good.  As you noted, they have grade 5 plates and bolts to facilitate installation.  I learned the hard way that their retractable belts won't fit between the seat and inner rocker because of the size of their retractor.  Their non-retractable belts work OK, but they don't have the dropped mount of the XV belts.

However, Wesco offers colors (tan for me) which XV currently doesn't.  For some reason, my question regarding the future availability of XV belts in colors (notably tan) has gone unanswered.   Twice.

Here's another new product that is ready to go right now.
Check out our website for more details and install pics on B, E and A body.

We'll be offering more and more things that we're using on our builds.
This was something we had to get properly sorted out for our cars, so here it is.

XV Motorsports is now offering a retractable three point seat belt solution for classic Mopar musclecars.

With these belt setups you'll be able to upgrade the safety of your ride using the same belts we use on our XV custom built cars.
We're also offering matching lap belts for the rear seats.

One of the key features of this product is that it correctly positions the shoulder belt over your shoulder and chest using a fixed drop.
Without this feature the belt gets positioned across your neck, whereas ours will put it in the correct location using the factory shoulder belt mounting point over the door.

Our belts feature:

-Locking Retractor, which allow freedom of movement but then lock automatically when needed
-Built in drop length to correctly position belt across your chest
-Push button release with custom XV logo
-Bolts in directly in minutes with no drilling required.
-Available only in black
-Designed to work with bucket seat applications

These belts will bolt in directly to Mopar B, E and A body cars that have a provision for a shoulder belt.

Neal, did you have the factory mounted thread hole in the ceiling? I have to drill a large hole for mounting plate and somehow slide it between roof panels and attach it by using rivets. Let's see how that's gonna work out, I'm planning to install them on this weekend.(sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker)

So far on a group buy only 2 people have signed up. They need 10 i am number 2 on the list.

Troy

I need three sets but I can't send the order in just yet. Autodynamics already ordered and got his (he's impatient I think :P ). On group buys I usually wait until we get close to the limit and I'll order enough to push us over the top if necessary - if I can afford it. I can't buy eight sets though so someone needs to step up! :D

Anders:

I used the factory ceiling location which had threaded hole for the shoulder belt nount.

Wesco can provide a steel plate for use in cars without the factory mount.  This hardened steel plate accepts the hardened bolt for the belt and uses screws to attach to the car.  I would HIGHLY recommend that you review their mounting instructions. The thought of using rivets to mount the plate is a ticking time bomb in regards to your safety.  Be sure to mount any seat belt properly.

I got sidetracked waiting on other things so I bailed on the group and ordered yesterday.

Brown truck just dropped them off  :2thumbs:     Lisa likes them because she had a hard time figuring out the old belts. Damkhat was impatient to make a bigger mess also.

Neal, thanks for your concern. I have the steel plates which I'm going to slide between the ceiling panels and only to use rivets to hold the mounting plate in place. So the mounting plate  will be behind the ceiling mountig hole. I'll follow the instructions.

Sure wish you guys would have come out with these before I spent the bucks to have Snake Oyl restore my factory belts. Dang.

Anybody want to buy a set of fresh shoulder belts (and not quite so fresh lap belts)?

Stupid question from a stupid person... :P

My '68 has the same provisions as the above picture that Anders posted - does that mean that these XV belts will NOT work in that configuration?  That hole needs to be threaded?  I believe that's what I've been reading, but I want to verify... :icon_smile_blackeye:

As far as I know, early 68s (built in 1967) may not have had the complete setup in the roof since shoulder belts weren't mandatory until January 1968. I think the bracing and other things were there but the threaded hole may not have been. I'll see if I can grab a pic of mine (all 3 are side by side with no headliners at this point). I believe you'll need the threaded hole for the XV belts. You can weld one in or I think someone else mentioned a kit.

Thanks, Troy.

That's what I thought.  My car being a Sept '67 car, I was willing to bet a shiny nickel that it didn't have the provisions for the shoulder belt.  The 'hole' is what threw me - I wasn't even expecting that to be there.  No threads for me. :icon_smile_sad:  Now I have to decide what I want to do.... :scratchchin:

Thanks again...

I just sent XVScott an email to put me on the list for the 3-point shoulder belts.

I just wear my lap belt now. That worthless seperate "shoulder" belt that's in my car now cuts right across my neck and I refuse to wear it  :RantExplode:

I've gotten so used to wearing the 3-point style with all the late model cars I feel naked without it.  :blush2:

These belts really like a good soulution to that problem, I hated the useless 2nd belt .
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris
