i wonder if they have them in stock, or is it one of these products that never make it to production.

We have 40 sets of fronts and 40 sets of rears in stock.

John.

What would you recommend for the 3rd point in a first gen CHARGER ? would this be a simple upgrade ? Are you considering this for this for future options  ? and when do you think you'll offer a color selection ?

I could kiss your right now! My mom is making me put in shoulder belts (I'm 17) and I couldn't find a good set up that I could install without a roll bar. Now I've got my answer. I'm in on the group buy if we do one!

One quick question:
Did you do any tests on a 68 Road Runner? I'll be installing these on a '68 Sport Satellite, will there need to be any modifications.
- Scott

I'm glad our timing was right for you!

We didn't try a 68.  I don't think there will be any clearance issues on the retractor on the floor based upon the B Body cars we have tried it on.
If they doesn't fit you can just send them back for a refund.

The only thing you need to make sure of is the car came with the shoulder harness or has the original mounting point for it over the door.
I'm thinking we should be offering the correct bolts for seat belts as well, we have a source for them.

I'm not sure on all the cars when Chrysler went to shoulder harnesses as standard.
For example, early 68 Barracudas it was an option and then all built from 1/1/68 onward they came as standard.
But I don't know when they became standard on the B body cars.

Hope this helps.

Ron,

I'm assuming that your car didn't come with shoulder belts?

I don't know what year they became an option on the B-Body cars (or standard).
Asuming it was an option, feel the headliner to see if the mounting location is there - you may be able to feel the bolt hole.
I've done this on one car where the belts were gone (or they were still optional).
If it seems like it's there you'll need to look under the headliner to confirm.

If there is no mount, then one needs to be added and this is not something I would mess with.
I'd get someone qualified to put in a plate or backing plate properly made or properly welded and you need to make sure they really know what they are doing.
It's critical that it be done right, because if the shoulder mount fails, with a three point setup you will basically have no seat belt at all - not pretty.

We really focused on offfering this for cars that have a factory provision for shoulder belts for just this issue.
It's one thing that definitely has to be done right and I'm not comfortable providing any solution for it as people's skill levels on something like that vary widely and the risk is just too high for something not to be done right.

The way it is now, on the cars w/ provisions, it's all just unbolting and bolting back in.

Thats' awesome timing, I was looking at four point harnesses trying to figure out what would be best in my car.

My question is though, I'd like to get some new Sparco, Bride, Corbeau, etc.. Premimum quality reclining buckets to go in my 70, and I was wondering how well do these belts work with them? I can't imagine they'd be any different but I'm just wondering.

Also, you guys rock for coming out with all these new parts for our old Mopars. And they are impressive pieces to boot.

OK, I just checked my '68.  There is a black plastic plug in the headliner just above the point where the two windows meet.  I pulled the drivers side plug, and there seems to be a threaded hole.  This is the correct point right?  I would also need the correct bolt for the upper point.  Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Do the belts come with seat belt bolts? I don't have any bolts for my car.

Charger1973

I would say it probably is.  I did that on my first 73 Charger when I was younger...  only I plugged the hole with something (cant remember what now) and then screwed a coat hook in there for looks.  It fooled any cop that ever pulled me over and I got away with never having a shoulder belt.   :P

I'm not sure , Matt. The ones that go to mine have a tapered end.

Thanks, I really appreciate that.  Let me know what you want for them if you have enough for 4 sets of belts.  Right now if I could get the 2 fronts in would be great.  I figured if I ever got pulled over , I'd tell the officer it was an old car and didn't come with them.

If these will work you can have them, im sure I have extras I just need to dig them out.

I'll post some pictures w/ Recaros tomorrow.

We run Recaros, custom retro style re-upholstered, in the cars we build.
I'll get someone in a car and take a couple of pics.

Glad you're likig what we are doing.  We have many things coming up and many very quickly.
One thing that we just received and got pics of I will try and get up tomorrow if I have time.

But there is something very cool coming, a little thing, but I think many will be very excitred when they see it.
I'm supposed to get the first batch this week.  It's one I'm pretty excited about.

Thanks for getting the pic of that up!

Looks like some of you will be needing the bolts.
I will get on it tomorrow to buy these in quantity.
We'll just stock them.

Hey, I've got two more questions. I'm guessing the retractor gets bolted down in the same place that the old lap belt was bolted to the floor? And also what are the dimensions on the actually retractor unit (I'm going to check and see if I'm going to have clearance issues)

I'm kind of in the same position as some on here.  No bolts.  My question is, can I just get lap belts for the front.  Does XV offer this setup as well.  I have no desire for the shoulder ones.  I have no belts in my car at all, and I won't be cutting holes in the headliner to try to find a mounting point for the shoulder application.  Just looking for some good ole lap belts. I'm guessing they only come in black??  If I missed that post I apologize.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Perhaps someone who buys the 3 point system will sell you their old lap belts?

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Ahh, great idea.  Thanks, i'll be looking in the for sale ads for sure in the near future.   :2thumbs:
