Well, this will be my last Friday for awhile here in the States... Heading off to Iraq on Monday with my Air Force unit... As things come full-circle, I too know that this will come and go and I'll be back here... Last time I was there, I had access, but limited time unlike here. This time will be a little harder since my wife, Kim, knows I'll be over there and I'll be separated from my lovely 10-month old daughter for the first time... I put things in perspective for I know there are servicemen who haven't even seen their babies yet..

Hopefully when I return, I'll have a completely painted '68 Charger R/T and will enjoy putting her back together...

Keep the board going fellas !!

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Take care, Troy! Thank you & your brothers in arms for all you do! :patriot:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That sucks,  it is just starting to get hot there.  Take plenty of DEET for the skeeters too, if you are in an area where they are a problem.  I remember counting over 35 bites on my left hand alone.  Those things drove me nuts.  :brickwall:

Thanks Rocky.. Have the DEET AND sunblock....... This whiteboy burns ever-so easily........ Last time I was there in '05, it was normal to be 130 to 140 degrees.. So, this time it shouldn't be so hot.. I'm just glad the rainy season's over.... Wouldn't want to be wading through all the muds...... Never had one problem with the mosquitoes, was too dry.........

Keep your powder dry, buddy.  You'll be back before you know it.

Troy,

Already told ya to be safe and get home soon to your family, but it can't be said enough times.

Thanks for your service, too!   :2thumbs:

Hemi, keep on your toes over there.  I am curious to know what kind of "news" you'll see about the happenings going on here while you are over in the sand box.  AFN is so white-washed.

Take good care of yourself and we'll see you here when you get back.

Bless ya.

I'm as white as they come too.  Hell, sometimes I think my son is translucent.  I spent weeks trying to get a tan only to have it washed off about six weeks later with my first real shower.  That was back in '03  I think facilities are a little better now, especially with the AF.

P.S.  If you have visiting Marines on base please don't bitch to the staff in the chow hall when they run out of Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars.  (We nearly lynched that tech sargent, and were banned unless we had a signature from an O-5 or higher.)  we didn't have a problem getting a signature.

Everything stays real dry in Iraq, doesn't it?

Stay safe, Troy. See you soon.

Where abouts are you going to be? I'm over there (here) right now. The heat isn't too bad yet. It only gets in the 90's during the day so far. The wet season wasn't very wet, it only rained 4 times here in the past 3 months I have been here. Good luck to you buddy, and I hope everything goes well for you!
