distributor gear?

i recently had my 318('77) in the truck redone ans the machine shop head job was crappy and a guide came loose while driving.
I got it all back together and got the drive gear put in, but not lined up correctly but cant seem to get it to come back out to readjust it. How can i get it to come back out?


as of right now it is on tdc, but the dist. points to the #7 cylinder. I do have a 3 way timing chain put to the triangle(advance mark)on the chain. would this be causing it?

2 options , use a large screwdriver & twist the gear up out of the cam or rewire the cap so #1 is where #7 is now
