34 months, damn. I remember those days. Goodluck to you, car is looking great.

Mark

Thanks. Yeah Im tellin ya. I could change the title but it is what it is. I had it for 30 years and still could have driven it but it deserved the resto so whats another while longer. I just moved from one job to another in the same building. I only work 40 a week now. I was working 9 & 10 hours a day.....before that 6 days a week when I took the Charger on. Hopefully when my foot heals I can get back on it and get it closer.

Well I guess I should post an update - I finally got back on the Charger this summer and took all of my 220 hours of vacation time. I was going to send it out disassembled and have it painted and assembled, but the price was out of my budget. So I rebuilt the door hinges and painted the jams and interior doors, fenders and undercoated them and went ahead and put them on and aligned. I will have some tape lines but that's gonna have to be the way it is. A few more things then I need to set it up to have the finish and paint done. I could do the minor body work and block sand it but I think I would rather have an pro do that part since It seems to be taking me forever to do the last part off it. I got enough $$$$ to do that and make it nice like I think it deserves. I will load some pics soon. Yeah I got tired of adding the months up and it was sounding ridiculous so I changed the thread title  :slap:

I didn't put the original cloth like coating on the latch rods. I used some thin vacuum hose that fit on nicely.

I thought I had enough saved for paint & final body work then found a better more expensive place to do the job..... so that's on hold now. The guy was Dupont painter of the year in 1997 and just does mostly bikes now since that makes him more money for less work. He still does a few cars when it allows him to do so. I could have had my car in and back in like a month or so but......I got to thinking since the wife was in the hospital a couple weeks ago for about 4 days, I better not spend the last of our savings on the car right now. She is better now but still recovering and is finishing her final assignments in her paralegal course and will graduate the 17th  :icon_smile_big:. Thanks to all the teachers who understood her situation. She will have her degree and will start the big hunt. She quit a legal Secretary job after 13 years to take a job for more money.....well after 3 months they down sized and she was at the bottom of the tot-um pole so  :rotz: Right now I am just doing other stuff to keep crawling along. Right now I just got all the goods for the heater box. Time to get that done and then start the dash. I have my gauges gone and have the wiring but I see the woodgrain panels are big $$....one thing at a time I guess. I am just glad to have the car and the wife in good health right now

No, I put that off till the wife can get a job, so we will have to see. The guy was gonna take on a big job on a rusty stang if I wasn't ready. He said my car should take only like a month to get done when I get it to him. So it looks like spring now.  :-\

Wise move Dennis, my 70 mostly sits waiting for me to clear up bills from 2 years of layoffs. I could slam the C cards and press on but instead I'm gonna pay them all off and then proceed with cash as I go.  :2thumbs:

I'm just reusing my heater motor, I have a new one but it looks a little different. I figured I can change that later if I need to. I also am reusing the hoses since new ones are $100 and they seemed pretty nice still. This cost around $700 to do what I did.
