Well trying to get some things done on the car lately. I have gotten a ton of buffing compound splatter off of everything....what bitch it was. I got the door scoops, quarter end caps, door handles and a few other things done. There has been a bit of a setback lately as one of my best friends has cancer and have been trying to hang out with him as much as I can lately. The V.A. hasn't given him how much time but he has lost 50lbs over the last few months. I will just hate to stay away for too long since in inevitable will eventually come. He's had a bad year, he lost his sister in the spring to cancer and a niece and a nephew in separate Incidents over the summer.  :rotz: Something always seem to take presidents over the Charger but I guess it isn't going anywhere so I guess I eventually will get it done  :P

I called a few places to see who could come to my garage to install a vinyl top. The first few places said they couldnt do it and I said well the cars not going anywhere so  I found a guy to come over to put my top on today for $200. I never did one but since I watched him today it doesnt seem to complicated. He left extra material on the sail panels till I get my trim on, I have to polish the pieces first.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

wow, your 70 will be amazing. Here in quebec, 1 guy own a 1970 HEMI RT in B5 with the stripe and the white roof like your card. I think it is a RT SE here in quebec. The guy family name is Delisle, and it is an amazing looking charger, like your car !

Any updates? The top looks great!

Thanks Finn, yeah I got all my trim on around the top. I am now installing the headliner.....fun fun. That front headliner trim clips are a poor design if you asked me. I finally improvised and used a trim clip on the back side and put in a screw. I fished in the wire tie through the hole and held it into place to start a screw. The center ones I taped the wire tie on a thin welding rod to reach the hole. Worked great since the trim clip fit right in the channel and held into place when I screwed them in.

Thanks, i saw Jim's and Van's has some. Most likely the same supplier? I was a little concerned about the quality and fit.

The70RT

These seem to fit OK, you have to glue them on the plastic bases.

Following this thread makes me torn. My 70 R/T thats getting hacked up now was originally a twin to your car. B5 with white side stripes/top/inside.

Originally I wanted tripple black with red tail stripe. Now I have fallen for Y1. Owned a blue mustang for 8 years had enough of blue, but it is sharp looking.

Decisions decisions.

any more pics Dennis...love that combo :2thumbs:

Not much for pics lately but did get the vinyl top trim on but then taped the car off again the put the headliner in. I probably didn't need to but wanted to make sure no adhesive got on the paint. I got the headliner in and ordered some more parts. My rear window trim was toast so I ordered that and a few other things like roof rail seals. I went to where I have some parts stored and got my dome light lens which the receipt shows I bought it in 2000.....then looked and thought damn it there was some roof rail seals I ordered years ago  :brickwall: Oh well wouldn't be the first time that happened? I pulled them out and some other things to install next. I am going to get the roof rails and seals in then paint the roof trim and install them. I am getting all the Dyna Mat in and my glass in (except front windshield) then restore the dash. I will have to see where to get the sound deadner and don't want to pay Dyna Mat prices so an alternative will probably have to work. I'm not sure about what I'm gonna do about my dash panels because they are not so great. I'm not sure but does anyone repro them? I know YO has the black panels but mine are wood grain.

Looks Great Dennis
Would you mind sharing with me what kind of paint/color you used on your emergency brake framing and also your pedal framing?  Looks Great

Also, Did you re-cad plate your door latches and if so, who did you send them to?

Did you have alot of zinc and cad plating done or did you do it all via spray bomb?

Looks great, keep it up.   Bill
