figured some of you may like to see what i do when i'm not messing with MOPARS. I have always loved antique Farm tractors and equipment....it seems like if these machines could talk they would have so much to tell...and how at one time it was a way of life that has basically been long since forgotten....this summer i am going to start working 40 acres of land my grandfather gave me and my brother when he passed on. The Farmall H in the pics i just picked up this weekend and the "M" was my grandpas tractor that i inherited....
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Those look pretty cool. Are parts hard to get for them?
There's a guy on my commute home who restores old tractors, He usually puts a couple a year up for sale when he's finished. I'll try to remember to snap some pics next time I see 'em.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Cool tractors. The Ag-Mechanics class at my high school restored a '47(?) Farmall M to sell to raise money for the FFA several years ago. The Ag-mechanics class I was in my senior year 2 years ago bought a '52 John Deere to restore but they still havent finished it yet.

gotta love them old Farmalls.  Would like to get my hands on a lot of old tractors some day.
Its no disgrace being poor.  Its just inconvienient.

I dig tractors too!  :yesnod: I've got a 52 Ford 8N, a JD 4600 and, my favorite, a JD 450B Dozer. I can't tell you how much fun I have pushing things around with the Dozer. What a stress reliever. I've got twenty acres and I've put a lot of hours on it and still have plenty left to do.

Thisw is a picture of my other hobby. I have collected antique Japanese Samuari swords for the last ten years. This is one of my glass cases that is in my office at the house. The oldest one I have at this time is around 600 years old. There are a few I've sold in the past that I wish I had back. Started as a pastime since I ran a Judo dojo in a small town here in Missouri and I have kept adding to the collection.

Wow, really nice Farmalls for sure.  Lots of people in Winthrop Maine like to parade them around in various parades around here.  They really look awesome and people spend a lot of time and energy fixing them up.

Since we got off subject a little my other hobby is wood working.  Kind of taught myself over the last few years.  I always said I would have a wood shop when I was younger.  It's the other half of my garage, but hey, I got it. :icon_smile_big:

they both run great, I think the H needs a new needle and seat but for now it runs great. The M has a "super M kit" as i've been told, which is basically lower gears in the rear end to give it the "pull" of a Super M. I have alot of fond memories surrounding the M as it was my grandfathers tractor that we used to bale hay with.

Since some of us are posting our other hobbies I guess I will come out and say, I collect Star Wars items. And not just a couple things, thousands of items. This is one of my rooms in the basement. The other room is packed up already, as we are getting ready to move. Some of the items in the picture are new, but many are vintage from 1977-1984. I believe I have 25 or so boxed Millennium Falcons. I have a lot of autographed items as well. The two R2-D2 coolers are both signed by Kenny Baker, the guy that was in R2 during filming. All my autographs I obtainted myself from the actors.

To be honest I camped out for this last movie that was out, Revenge of the Sith. I was the dork the local news crew came to interview. In my defense I have not, nor do plan on dressing up in costume for those events.  :D

On a side note, the wife and I spent our honeymoon at the giant Star Wars Celebration III convention in Indianapolis. She will never let me forget that one. Four fun filled days of dorks.

It was before your time.
Heres a brief synopsis of the song for you bronzy.
MMMBop" is a song written and performed by the American pop/rock band Hanson. It originally appeared on the album MMMBop (1996) as a ballad, but, with production by hit producers The Dust Brothers, became the first hit single from the band's debut album Middle of Nowhere (1997).
"MMMBop" was a number-one hit worldwide. It was also one of the biggest debut singles of all time; in Australia it became only the second debut single to enter the ARIA charts at the number one position. It was voted the. Best single of the year in The Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll, while also topping critics' polls from such publications. And media outlets as Rolling Stone, Spin, and VH1. "MMMBop" was nominated for two Grammys in the 40th Annual Grammy Awards in February 1998.

What great pull from the past - - Man, that's way too funny... because "MMM Bop" SUCKED!  I remember that gay-ass diddie when I was single, and out trolling the pick-up bars....  It was a horrible phase of music. But, at the end of the night (let's say 2:00 in the morning) if a chick was diggin' it - - so was I !!   :icon_smile_cool: :icon_smile_cool: :icon_smile_cool:

I'm on terminal leave now as my 20 is up.  Wanted to stay and do the C-130 Loadmaster deal, but they wanted me to move to Florida or Washington State to stay P-3 IFT.   I wanted to stay in Maine so I made the choice.

 You have so many relationships in this life
Only one or two will last
You're going through all this pain and strife
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast
And they're gone so fast
So hold on the ones who really care
In the end they'll be the only ones there
When you get old and start losing your hair
Can you tell me who will still care
Can you tell me who will still care

Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose
You can plant any one of those
Keep planting to find out which one grows

heres the latest addition....it's a 1965 International Harvester 440 W hay baler, picked it up at an auction today for $400
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

That has fun written all over that, can I come?
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Sure, stop by and knock over a tree or something. I still like the go fast cars more, but this is a close second. It even has a turbo charger. Sounds sweet and I love the smell of diesel in the morning... :icon_smile_big:

Mike, You are one talented guy in the wood working department. That stuff is beautiful.

my other hobbies are firearms and I dabble in antique tractors as well. After I graduate college here and figure out where i'm going to end up I'm going to start work on my old john deere model A which my great uncle gave to me a few years ago. I gotta restore it too.

mikepmcs

moparguy01,

Thank you, very much appreciated.  I wish I could do it for a living.

I wish I had an old tractor too. That would be really cool to have around the yard.  Got any pics of that JD Mod A?

Unfortunately I dont. I did till my computer crashed a few months ago. Now i have to wait till I go down to the farm in nebraska again to get pics of my tractors and cars sitting there, cause i lost all the pics. These computers are just frustrating sometimes.
