ac problem or question

Just got my ac up and running and seems to be working but the compressor kicks on in def and heat positions, is it suppose to ? It has a new vacume switch and
I checked the wiring made sure it was on right, everything looks ok. oh 69 charger, is there something I'm missing?

Not sure about the '69 model, but on the '68 model the ac kicks on for a short time to dehumidify the air, and then shuts off.   If it keeps running check for a bad switch under the ac unit right above where the passenger puts his feet.   If the switch is bad, disconnect the wires, and insulate them.  That will prevent the ac from coming on in those positions.

Thanks went out and unhooked those wires and it worked like you said, might not have let it run long enough in heat and def to see if it cut off.
