Nice pics. I was looking thru my old car show pics and have some of the winged cars. We use to go to a show called Mopars At The Mall in Hagerstown, MD. In the early 80's. It wasn't a big show but always had some nice Mopars. I guess people use to drive them more back then,

Nice archive pictures. I recognize alot of those cars and names and where some of those cars went .Mike Mc Guire with the green hemi car .Later went to Jake Diemer in Mo and got painted orange Joe Machado real daytona with trailer hitch and known as the highest miles put on a daytona went to Greg peck.Joe and his son Sean. Also own the spice girl clone daytona.I think my friend from MD attended the Baltimore meet with his 440 daytona.Ive seen Mikes photo albums lots of cool pictures and retro custom affects on the wingcars

these are also from Baltimore, 1980

Tim Wellborn's car.   It is a 440 with a Hemi transplanted.   Tim sold it 20 years ago and recently bought it back from the same guy.   It had been driven just a few miles in all those years and is basically the same, without the large front spoiler.  Still looks too good to restore.

Joe's Daytona was not a clone, but a heavily modified real Daytona.  He had the nose leaded in, changed the side markers to '68 style and had old Chrysler 300 log rams on his 440.  I drove it about 20 miles; killer car!

Machado and Lou Whitfield used to beat up on other cars out at Riverside Raceway on track days.    Machado's Daytona in the Allison colors and it's older silver paint job was my favorite next to Radkes Petty Blue car.   Joe's silver car is the one at the far right.  Most of you have seen this picture before.

Daytonas look good when painted silver. Is that the original color? I notice it doesn't have the Daytona stripe.

"1970 Daytona" note the large rear side marker lamp.  taken in Denver 1979 at the NHOA meet.  Car was in a warehouse full of other exotic, classic cars.  I'm not sure, but the guy who brought my brother and me to the warehouse was, I believe, a young Craig Jackson, of Barret-Jackson fame (infamy). Don't know any particulars, and I wasn't there long enough to investigate vin or anything.  However, low back buckets, no R/T panels on doors, droopy shoulder harness makes me think it's a '69.

Its possible its a 69 that got restored using 70 1/4s.Ive seen a black daytona that was a genuine daytona. And had the 70 marker lights .Its belongs to one of our WW club members.Except your shows a hemi badge could be one of the Soneffs daytonas from Colorado

Boy, am I getting old.  don't remember didly-squat.  If you look closely at the front shot, I believe you can see the front side markers in the valance panel are also 1970 types.

I couldnt tell just saw the orange .As 69 were only reflectors.Ive seen people add the 70 light up side markers. As 68 Machado added 68 round light up markers to his daytona .Doesnt hurt to be better seen .When the only lights that can be seen are in the nose.

This one is Jim Radke's car, circa 1975.   This was prior to the blue Hemi car.   The deal was it was to be painted F6, but the painter messed up and it got shot in Green Go.

That list brought back memories.  Pat Harper's daytona, with 45000 miles "a quarter mile at a time" as he told me.  I remember walking into the local Chrysler/Plymouth dealer's parts department, and my usual parts guy was waiting on a customer.  "Hey, Pat," the guy said, "Here's some one you should meet.  He has a SuperBird."  "FOUR Superbirds," I corrected.  Pat pointed his finger at me and said, "You're the Guy!"  "I'm what guy?" "You're the guy my car club said is in Arizona with 3 or 4 SuperBirds."  That's how I met Pat.  and how I joined Winged Warriors.  Maybe I'll do story time a little later.

I've said it before, but when I was younger I thought that everyone had a handful of wing cars. There was several people that my parents ran around with that had 2 or more Daytona's and at least a pair of Superbirds to go with them.

This Daytona with the crazy paint job was Richard Richerdon's.

Where were you C5X?  I was about the same size as you then.

Who owns the other Daytona in the background?

Was it an F6 automatic 440 with white stripe and interior?

That's what my parents' car was
