Wonder if you pull the spark plugs whether you could turn it over...   :scratchchin:

Hydrolocked maybe?

Rolling_Thunder

ok here's the story...    my boss let me take his car out last night to a local cruise in...    the engine randomly died and would not restart...     there are no holes in the block and hopefully it is just hydraulic locked at this point...

The engine is the # matching 440+6 in his 1970 Superbird...    hopefully its just head gaskets.

update. Blown head gasket caused number 4 to fill with water at an alarming rate...    upon the compression stroke the #4 piston shattered and sent remnants into the rest of the engine. there are 3 bent pushrods as well as man other minor problems. The status of the connecting rod is unknown. the block looks like it can be saved with a hone on the cylinders. My boss (under my recomendation) has agreed to my plan. The # matching block and transmission will be rebuilt and selved while a stroker and OD 4-speed is installed for the purpose of driving.

Pics will follow soon.

Ouch, that hurts, how'd your boss take the news?

Rolling_Thunder

Boss: "are you alright? you're not in the hospital or jail are you ?"

Me: "no but i think the engine in the 'bird blew"

Boss: "oh...     well are there any holes in the block ?"

Me: "no"

Boss: "oh alright - its just a car...    we can fix a car..."

That was the extent of the phone call i gave him...
