i just bought the tool to take the upper ball joint out, but when i took it out i noticed  that it took half the threads out of the upper control arm housing.what caused this was it because of to mutch dirt was behind it and got sucked up into it when it was removed ,i noticed it on the first one ,and on the other side i drowned it in wd-40 and tryed to clean it before i took it out but it done about the same thing is normal i have another se,t i whent ahead and soaked them in deisel fuel . ::)

If it did in fact strip the threads and they came along with it, you will need a new UCA.  Do you have any pics of what you are talking about??

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I heard of another fellow that went through this and he ended up welding the new ball joint in place.   :shruggy:

The threads on the UCAs can be deceiving.  They are very flat and smooth threads. If you have the new upper ball joints you will know what I mean by looking at them.  If you install the new joint, torque it to at least 125-150.  If it doesn't torque to that load you need new arms.
