ever see severe rust in this area before?

41husk

that is strange, even if water was getting in through the windows. it would just run down not sit there.  I wonder if that isn't Chemically induced?

I would guess prior damage that was not repaired properly caused that. It almost looks like bondo was put right over rust from the pic. ???

I've seen that happen when quarter patch panels were installed using the overlap method. Rust forms between the panels in the overlapped area.

That's a sad sight. :'(  Is that car going cheap? Does the rest of it look ok?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I don't think anyone said the car was for sale.  If so theat rust would not scare me off.

It looks like the may have braised in the pieces with brass rather than welding with a MIG. The plastic will always bubble and separate right where the brass is first then the moisture will take over. The two metals expand and contract at different temps and also will oxidise very fast.

472,

Is that a picture of the underside of a Charger?  Or the Titanic?  :shruggy:

I copied the image location from the 3D website.  Unfortunately it comes across BIG.  It's the subframe pieces.

I can fix that...my dad is a TV repairman and he has an awesome set of tools. ;D
My Texas car has almost no rust at all...except inside under the dash where condensation collected from the A/C system (I assume) The right side dash vent hole crumbled when I took the vent out. I had to fab the whole corner of the dash. That was a pain.
