I read an artlicle in one of my mags the other day about headlights buckets. I did not know they went in only one spot in the grill. SO after I restored my grill, I installed all four of them without know this.

I kinda thought something was up when I tried to adjust the lights after installing the grill, but sinse I seldomly drive her after dark, I never worried about them being adjusted perfectly. Yesterday, I removed the bulbs and guess what? Yep.....had every damn one of them in the wrong spot  :icon_smile_angry:

I know most of you all knew this small bit of info, but just in case, I thought I would post this. I feel like a dumbass now so Im going.

Oh, in case someone doesnt know, the buckets are marked: LT HI/LO   RT HI/LO etc.

That must be a problem all R6 red 1969 Charger R/T 440 4 speed owners have. Never even gave it a thought when I put mine back together.   :rotz:

Thanks for the info.

the headlights do not sit flush in the buckets if they are in the wrong place & the crome rings are hard to install too

Charger4404spd

Yeah Neil I noticed that yesterday after I installed them in their correct places! :icon_smile_big:
Now I need to adjust the beams. Thought about parking in front of the garage door to adjust them. Any tips? ANy measurements to go by, like beam so many inches from ground?

Chryco Psycho

park the car back about 20' if the ground is level & measure approx 1/2" drop from the center of the light to the center of the pattern on a wall or the garge door

I can see it now... everyone is walking out to their car and checking just to be sure.... GREAT TIP!  I haven't gotten that far along on my car... but I'll be sure to see that it goes back correctly when the time comes.  Thanks!
