I have a chance to buy a 73 Charger with a completely rebuilt .030 over 1969 383 with the complete 4 speed setup. This drivetrain came out of a 69 Coronet. Has the pedals and everything with it. I kinda know what the 73 Charger body is worth. Just kinda curious what everybody thinks the Drivetrain is worth.

If the pedals are out of the '69 they won't work in the '73(they use the E-body type).

As far as value it cost me a little over $2,000 to restore all the missing 4 speed pieces in my '69. This was with an 18 spline tranny including the rebuild.  The rebuilt 383 value depends on the parts used in the rebuild. I would add up what it would cost to do the work and figure about half that for actual value to be safe.

I was going to say $1,500 but it sounds like 694spdRT knows better.

Actually $1,500 would be a fair price to use. I figure about half of new or replacement when buying parts with a car whether that makes sense or not. To buy all of the stuff seperately and rebuild the engine you are looking at $4,000 easily. So 1/2 of that would be $1,500 to $2,000.

When you crunch the numbers the cost of buying a clutch, flywheel, bellhousing, z-bar, shifter, handle, tranny, pedals, etc. and then engine would make $1,500 a very good deal IMO. Plus, you don't have to spend tons of time searching.
