Numbers Help

[RDR-838]

I've been trying to determine if my '69 block is numbers matching. I've been crawling around underneath and found the casting numbers, which are correct for a '69. Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, the only other number I can find is this: PT383 H 24130551. It's on the bottom of the driver side, where the block meets up with the tranny. This number does not match my VIN. I'm confused because I thought this number should be on the passenger side. Am I looking in the correct place? Thanks.
