These pics are from my 68 Coronet. Has anyone seen this type of lock that is located inside the engine compartment? I assume it's to lock the hood, but I can't figure out how? Another pic is a factory marking on the inside of the engine compartment, can this be recreated if I restore the engine compartment? Thanks.

I use to have one on my Charger. Your missing the chain that screws on the hood. When you close the hood you take the chain with an end clip and slide it under the lock.
Not worth messing with, just an 80ds Pep Boys item.

Exactly. Just junk. I had a bunch from an auction. I used one on fridge at work for a teacher to keep the little fingers out :icon_smile_big:

If you're worried enough about the factory mark, you can take a digi pic and have a rubber stamp made up, then just stamp it with orange acrylic. Any big printers or stationers will do it for you.
I'd rather push a Charger than drive a Mustang.. which is lucky..
