That is REALLY cool!

Nice to see a grateful son.

I always wanted to give my dad a '57 Chevy Del Ray because he had one way back when and had to sell it after my brother was born. I never had the money to do it before he died. :icon_smile_blackeye: Still don't.

Absolutely incredible!!!

I too have always wanted to build my Father a 65 Mustang.  For some reason that is his favorite car although he's owned numerous 50's Chevy sleds in his day, but hey.... that's what he wants.  I haven't given that dream up yet though.  He's 66 now and still going strong.  He's the greatest man in the world and definitely my hero, always will be.

Very nice.  I have just realized how selfish I am.

I'm forclempt....discuss.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

That is pretty cool, no doubt.  I'm so ashamed though - I bought my Dad a 1930 Model A Phord instead of a Mopar...   :-[

'Course, that's what he wanted, since he started driving them when he was about 12 and had owned three of them before he turned 17.

I just don't know where I went wrong raising him    :P

69_500

Well gene, your ahead of me. I'm still waiting to find another 500 so that my dad can have one again. I figure I want a Daytona for myself, first though before I get him a 500. Unless the price was right.

There was a member here who restored his Dad's Charger for him last year?
I did a search, but came up empty. Maybe it was on the '70 site? :ahum:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

No i think that was on here, i remember reading it also.

I think his father passed though and he was restoring it in his honor. Noble indeed.

Thanks Mike. I felt, like other guys, that my father has invested a lot in me (and my brother and sister). Now when I had a chance to return something back, I did it - and it was great feeling. This was only one way to show appreciation, I'm trying to help whenever I can. I believe that most of us are feeling similar to our parents.

Wheels of Terror

:icon_smile_approve: What a great family!! Does your heart good!

I would never buy my dad a musclecar. Let me explain, he had a 69 Charger long before i was born. Someone loosened the lug nuts on it. When he drove off, the wheels came off. Guess what? He JUNKED the Charger!?!?! He was not going real fast. He was doing under 40mph. Ok, so what did the Charger need? New drums, and a completed front suspenion rebuiild at most?!! Plus he had never supported me. He hated that I was a mechanic and worked on my own car. Any time he would have to fix his 88 Suburban or Lumina van, he would ask my younger brother who did not know anything about cars. I had to help them change plug wires on the Trooper because they had messed up the firing order.  ::)  Sorry for the rant.  This bugs me.

My dad would have been more suited to say a 40 Ford coupe and he was very supportive of me.  I have to say that he encouraged and taught me everything I know about working on cars.  Unfortunately for me he died way to young and I was robbed of many years of enjoyment spent working on them with him.  But I do hold on to my memories.  Now I am building memories with my son.

I FOUND IT!! :boogie:

I was mistaken, it was done for his father in law, not his father.

Here he is the first time he started it up...
