if there were no mopars....

If there were no mopars (dodge/chrysler)  what kind of car would you be driving?  (Basically your second choice).  I was just wondering.  On another thread someone said they owned a bow tie..so it spiked my curiosity.

Personally it would be a toss up between a 64 1/2-65 Ford mustang or a Pontiac GTO (The Judge).  With the goat being my first choice.

I hate use the word Chevy but it would be a '70 SS 454 Chevelle. 5 mpg. :icon_smile_big:

GTX

I used to really like the early Monte's when I was young but I'd have to say probably a '67-'68 Firebird or GTO of the same period.

Harlow

It would be a 65-68 GTO, 4-speed. I know a guy restoring a blue '65, black interior, 389, 4 speed, and he found a tri-power set up at a swap meet. The thing would be pretty badass

I worked for a guy who restored torinos and made them starsky and hutch cars (zebra 3).  They were HOT!!!!!  Too bad he was a scammer and they shut down his shop.  I luckily stopped working there 6 months prior so I didn't end up in trouble.

My older brother had a new Gremlin back in the day, I remember that it had Levi's denim material for the interior option. the seats had Levi tags on them like the back pocket of the jeans. It was a nice car, he totaled it after a concert back in 81'.  :slap:

I guess it would have to be a Torino. I knew a guy groing up that had a nice Torino that i always liked.

or maybe one of these Rebels

Charger1973

If there were no Mopars, id go for a Delorean.  That would just be an all around neat car to own.

GTX

Can I amend mine?
Charger1973 got me thinking , while I'd probably be driving a Firebird or GTO there would almost certainly be a Detomaso Pantera in the garage although I wouldn't drive it around much. If I hadn't spend so much on the Mopars over all the years I could have easily had one!

Always loved those Pantera's!    :drool5:

bull

We're talking collector cars, right?

As far as Chevy goes I've always liked the '67-'68 Camaros and the '70-'72 Blazers.

Ford is a tough one because their average Joe lineup really doesn't do much for me, although I'm sort of sweet on the Comets and Fairlanes. Oh, and the ford GT coupe and the Shelby Cobra would be fine, of course.

Other than that I'd probably go foreign exotic if I could afford one or fit in one like a Ferrari or Lamborghini (I've always liked the old Countach).

pettyfan43

If I cou;dn't own a Mopar, It would have to be either this...

An Intercooled Grand National or a 70-72 Olds 442

AFter those would be a 67-68 SHelby Mustang but I absolutely LOVE 70-72 Buick GSs
I at one time had a Black/black/black 71 350 car.

MAN O MAN those cars are COOL.

68chrgrwife

I just want to say that i am surprised by how many people like the torinos....I liked them when I worked for my boss...even tried to buy his off him....could not afford it he sells his for like $40,000 completly souped up.  He also did a back the future 2 car..it looked cool as heck.  Would never want to drive one of those though...i sat in it and it makes me totally claustrophobic.

i'd go the Shelby mustangs up to '68, cause i really don't like the '69 at all,   :P
But pretty much any other '69 as that's the sweet spot for my autoholisim...
i'd love to have a Riv, especially a 3xblack boat tail or earlier...
I'd love a Caddy hardtop or convert... nearly any year up to '70.
AMXs and a really nice Javilin...
'63 thunderbird roadster... poncho 2+2 or GTO etc..
hard to imagine a world without MOPARs though...  :-\
