Hey gang,,

Anyone know of an all-together engine teardown gasket kit for a 426 Hemi? MaMopar dropped the ball on me by not including the timing chain cover seal with the kit I bought from them, now the bloody kit's on back-order with no other units available in the near future... I'd rather not piece-meal all the individual gaskets.. Felpro doesn't seem to have a complete kit... Grrrrrrrrrrr

Push comes to shove I'll just go bye the dang seal and eat it..... Sucks such a simple thing has to be complicated....... Oh well.......

Thanks,
Troy

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Troy, this one is listed as a full set from Fel-pro and it gives the number to the company Maddog Racing.  Maybe you could call them and see if in fact it has a TC Seal.

what seal you mean ? the round one to the crank/damper ? I think you can buy it on any parts dealers shop and buy separatelly I have couple of them.

We never change the seal unless really necesary. Normally is not common get a leak there and since normally on teardown you use same damper, then worned area matches perfectly between them.

Do you want the PN ? I think I can get the PN on seal itself ( not the Mopar PN )

Come to find out from another reputable Dodge Parts dealer that the timing chain cover seal isn't supposed to be in there to begin with... Well, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard..... But, oh well......... Sooooo, I'll order a t.c.cover kit from my local parts store.......

Just got one today for mine, albeit a 383, but cost about $20 for the whole thing from fel-pro from my local parts performance center that I like to support.  Home town boys and all. :icon_smile_big:
Gotta support the little guys, customer service is the best.

Oh yeah and they are big time mopar fans too.  Owner has a 69 (r/t i think needs a roof for sure, that he did get i believe down at the salvage yard near where Jim Shine used to live)R/T basket case to him anyway.  and lots of other hot rod mopars too.

Get er done Troy. :icon_smile_big:

My bad Troy, I was answering your Timing Cover kit  post.  I got a complete timing cover gasket set with seal for just over $20.  Sorry I was vague on that one.

It came with the following gaskets:
and it lists it's compatible with a 426

Fuel pump  #6579
Water pump to body #11730
Water pump to cylinder block (2 each) #11731
Timing cover #12460
Water pump body to plate #13116
Water pump housing to cylinder (2 each)  #13117
Timing cover seal #16162
Oil pan front section #30344

The kit # on the end of the Fel-Pro box indicates TCS 12460-2

My apologies for the confusion.
