What US muscle car shows are televised?

Are there any muscle car shows that are nationally televised every year, specifically a well-known US muscle car show that is not make-specific and includes Mopar, GM and Ford? I guess SEMA could count but I'm looking for more of an average Joe type deal rather than a top-end 100-point show.

I'm surprised no one's answered this yet.  Maybe you need to clarify what you mean by muscle car shows...?  Are you talking about things like Dukes of Hazzard or Nash bridges, that feature a muscle car?  Or documentary/how-to shows like American Hotrod?  Or just anything with a muscle car on screen?

Here's what I can think of off the top of my head (more along the documentary/how-to lines)

SPIKE Channel
Horsepower TV
Muscle Car
Bullrun

DIY Channel
Classic Car Restoration
Resto Rides

TLC Channel
American HotRod
Overhaulin

SPEED Channel
American Muscle Car
Two Guys Garage
Dream Car Garage
My Classic Car
Car Crazy
Barrett-Jackson (various 'recap' shows of the live auction)

A lot of those Speed channel shows focus on old antiques and Euro exotics as much or more than American Muscle.  And the weekend car shows on Spike are nothing but worthless 30 minute commercials for Brand X parts houses, I've given up on them.  The only thing even remotely resembling an actual how-to show are the ones on the DIY channel (if you get that one) on Fridays.

Disclaimer:  Recharger and DodgeCharger.com do not endorse the quality nor encourage the viewing of any of these shows.  Except Bullrun.

I think he was talking about Car Shows being televised, not shows about muscle cars. I can't think of any. The closest you'd come to something like that would be the B-J auction, My Classic Car, or when Horsepower TV does a 5 minute segment about a car show.

Then again...could a televised car show be entertaining at all to watch? I doubt it.

Shakey

That one show, the one with the dork that shakes hands with his guests every two minutes, you know, the guy with the Rollie Fingers mustache.  I've seen segments within episodes where he was at some larger events - just can't recall which ones.  Either way, it was only a few minutes worth and he is usually focused on one or two cars and not really the show itself.

yeah, that's Dennis Gage from "My Classic Car".

I've always thought he's kinda creepy looking..

Sorry, I didn't think the thread title was unclear when I wrote it but now I can see how it might be interpreted wrong. Mojo is correct, though, I meant to ask if there are any big national car shows that are televised such as Carlisle? I guess it really doesn't happen much other than the Barrett-Jackson auction or maybe SEMA. You'd think as popular as classic muscle cars are today there would be more muscle car events being televised. :shruggy:

No, Mojo, I wouldn't expect it to be riveting television but you'd think someone would cover some of the bigger events with maybe an hour-long show a few times a year, especially those with cruising and racing events. Heck, they cover antique and dog shows and people watch that crap.

I have seen an episode or 2 on the speed channel last summer with the carlisle shows all compiled together there may be others to but i did watch those since they are local shows for me .

yes in the speed channel shows the some times show a car show.  infact I'm not sure witch episode it was but in one Don Garlits would talk about his favorite at the show.
