OK, Come on...lets be honest. Weve all done it.
Put on some upgrade and had to take it out somewhere and see what it can do.

Where do you go?

I have a nice long 1/2-3/4 mile straight stretch on Highway 9 (no side streets) by my place that I like to hit.

What about you???

Ghoste

About two miles from my house but there's a housing development going in there soon so it looks like I'll have to get a new one.

Right out of my neighborhood. Its a county road, with only 1 house for about a mile stretch of the road. No access roads, and no driveways to contend with.

TruckDriver

I got a 2 mile straight stretch going north out of town that has only 2 long driveways with no obstructions to see anyone coming out.

There is a 4 mile stretch that circles the GM truck plant. The plant itself is almost a mile and a half long. Late at night it is a great place to run. It is a 6 lane road with no access roads. At the one end of the plant the curve actually has a slight banking to it. Its great.

I have a nice little route thru NY State that takes about a hour. Goes thru a little town with store fronts that let me listen to the exhaust as I roll thru ( I love going past the Chebby dealership) . It tends to rattle the windows some :icon_smile_big:. Then down RT94 for some distance for 50-60 MPH testing, and then back thru farm country for some nice straight stretches for a little carb cleaning . It's a nice run and allows for some various testing to take place.   :yesnod:

I pull out of my driveway onto a 4 lane hwy. I hit it when the car is 1/2 out to minimize going sideways and floor it, the distance to the light is about 1/4 mile. somehow that feels like the best place to test. For other issues I have many forgotten back roads to test on.

Where I currently live now in the middle of a very large subdivision/bedroom community it was a 40 mile uninhabited loop during the early to late 1970s. A cop made a run once a mnoth and we knew the schedule. There are several 2 mile plus straights and some very twisty areas. It was a dream and we didn't really appreciate what we had. Now its wall to wall people and the traffic is 24 hours a day. I really feel sorry for the young guys these days as there are no deserted areas to mark 1320 off or have a blast track.

There are so many good driving roads in Georgia. Espeicially north Ga. with the mountains. One of my favorite spots to really gun it is on some of these interstate access roads that are basically long exit/entrance lanes. They are usually in great condition and wide with good visibility and not much traffic. Plus I like to come around those loop exits in 2nd and when the road straightens up just punch it.

Plus Hazard County Ga. has some really good dirt roads and jumps.  Haha. :punkrocka:

this place used to be about 5 min. away from my house, but I moved so I have to find a new place this summer :-\
