2001 engine code question

I have a 01 grand cherokee limited 4.7L HO or magnum, getting a code PO750 which is a shift solonoid A malfunction.  It is an intermittent problem, not necessarily when operating temp or cold long or short distance, just does it when it wants. It feels like it drops the tranny then goes to limp mode. It also resets itself and will work properly again. any mechanics familiar with this happening? could it be a sensor, or the entire solonoid pack? or could it be a bad connection hence the intermittent problem

Your problem is either in the wiring or the solonoid that the code is representing. It could alos be in the valvbody, but this is unlikely. most of these problems are in the solonoid itself. do a trans service and replace the solonoid.
