Interchangeable parts from a 68?

Hi.

Could you please tell me if parts such as; chrome trim, gas cap, Charger emblems, console and so on are interchangeable between a 68-69 and 70 Chargers. I'm looking to purchase my first Charger and a guy contacted me to tell me about these parts that he has for sale but not knowing if they would fit, i'm hesitant on buying them. Thanks for your help and I love all the pics from your rides.

Alot of the chrome trim is interchange friendly(window, windshield, rear windshield,gutter, and door trim) but not the rear tail panel chrome and the grilles are different on a 68, 69, and 70 all together.

THe gas cap on a 68 is not the same as a 69-70. Here are pics of a 68 cap and a 69-70 cap for reference.

I'm not sure on the emblems.

What year car are you getting, that could help a  little.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a 68, 69 or a 70 and I know that these are hard to find but I'm a patient guy. Maybe I'll wait on bying these parts until I find the car.

Yes I agree on waiting and getting the car first. 

Another thought though is if the parts are a good price and there are alot of them, then you can always flip the parts or trade for what you need.  If you go this route though, don't let the parts dictate what year you purchase.

Thanks Mike. I think I might just do that if the price is right, that would then give me extra parts to sell/barter with in case I need other parts for the one that I'll eventually buy.

A lot of parts interchange between the cars just from a "fit" point of view but aren't correct from an appearance standpoint.
Do like Mike says and flip them for what is right.

i like the "fuel" gas cap better.... i'm gonna put one on my 68!!!!
here's a cool pic (i think so anyways!!!) i took at the englishtown show last year (oct. i think?!?!?) it was on a 70 charger!!!!
anyone... (MIKE) correct me if i'm wrong?!?!?.... as the gas caps are different....they will still fit each others years?!?!?! NO?

I'm pretty sure the gas cap is a good example of a part that interchanges for fit.

Thats funny, I have a 69 and like the 68 smooth top better, so I bought a 68 cap... LOL
