Need measurements for installing chrome rocker mouldings

My '69 didn't come with the chrome rocker mouldings, but I'm going to put them on anyway. I think they really dress up the whole side of the car. I searched through the service manual for dimensions for drilling the mounting holes, but no luck. Does anyone know exactly where to place the covers and where to drill holes? Thanks.

Who did you order the rocker moulding from?  I am doing the same thing and ordered mine from Year One on a 20% off deal.  I had to order the mouldings and mtg hdwe separately since they were out of the kit containing both.  The mgt hdwe was back ordered and has been for several months.  There seems to be some question as to what the proper mtg hdwe is.  What are you using for this and where did you get it.

And I need the info on how the moulding is supposed to be installed too.

I'm after the measurements as well, my 500 came with rocker mouldings but holes are now welded up & car is painted so i cant find them. Got my mouldings from metro parts company.
I found these 2 pics of where the moulding clips are on the fenders

I bought my mouldings from Year One right after Metro burned. Someone here, (maybe Chris?) wrote and said that YO had 10 sets left, so I jumped on them right away. The clips were backordered even then, so I bought them from R/T Specialties 570-388-1082. Part # 1000130 for $59.00. R/T Spec. says that these are the right clips, I hope so!

I measured & drilled for my mouldings just before I painted my car. Someone here posted a measurement chart a while back, I used that for a guide. Here's what it outlined:

"I hope these measurements help ive taken a couple of pics but cant post them until im back at work on the 10th
Starting from the front guard there is one hole 8 3/4 inch from rear end of guard it will end up slightly forward of the penstar this is for the metal clip.
Now the tricky part the holes that run across the rocker panels are measured at 2 inches up from bottom face of rocker or 1 3/4 inch down from top face to hole centre there is six that run along the rocker under the door and two holes will end up in the rear quarter panel make sure you get them all level.
Starting at front of the rocker panel behind the front guard rear edge the measurments are as follows leading back to last hole in rear quarter.
Eight more holes will need to be drilled
hole one to eight etc
2 1/4 10 1/2 19 1/4 28 1/8 37 5/8 47 1/8 52 3/4 63 7/8 measurments in inches"

I held my mouldings on temporarily with masking tape to get them centered. Then, to double-check, held the clips in place to make sure they were positioned properly. Measure 5 times, drill once!!

The clips set is for the plastic ones only, the metal ones are not included. Also, the original moulding attaches with a countersunk sheetmetal screw. The repros do not have the screw hole, it's held in with the plastic clips only. If originality is a concern, I guess you could drill a hole & use a countersink tool to get the little impression in the moulding.
