I'm looking at buying a 72 Charger from the bank.  It's got a 400-2bbl from the factory.  The funny thing is, I crawled under the rear end and I see either an 8.25 or a dana rear.  Not sure which.  The tag on the diff cover said it had a gear ratio of 2.45.  So is this a dana or an 8.25 rear end?  I'm guessing 8.25.
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

this should help.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

If the 400 2bbl is original, then it's most likely an 8 1/4.

Ok cool thanks guys.  I never realized there was a 9.25 rear end in the chargers.  The damn thing outta fly with the 2.45 gear ratio though.  Never seen anything that low in a charger.

It should do about 200 MPH when at top speed LOL.
