Ain't nobody laughing here.  You did the right thing and kept calling to see if it was real.  The odds were against you but you never know until you know, right.
Keep on keepin' on brother.

Thanks Mike, now Im actually looking at the idea of this 70 Skylark for 350.

$2000? Sounds like a zero missing. I sold a POS basket case '69 over a year ago with no drivetrain for $3g's.

Now that might be a for real deal.  I'm not into those myself but I saw the pics of the one your dad and you restored, yellow, right.

I'd even give $350 for a Skylark just to see if I could flip it.  Can you get some pictures of that one and post them up on this thread?

Mike
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Back N Black

How come you never got any technical questions about your charger, like how to adjust the timing, adjust the carb.or look i just painted my valve covers?.............. ???

edit:
it just occured to me that you'd have pics allready IF you had indeed restored a anything...
so for you to say your gonna "try" and get pics and even to say it's a "mile" away reeks of BULLSHIT!
prove it or shut the hell up!

Brock is right. Hey T5, you should give it a break for a while.  OPEN your eyes and ears, and shut your mouth (re: cars for sale)......you'll find a lot more.

Ease up on T5 guys.  He is excited about a maybe good deal.  No one ever heard of a super deal like that before?

They are still out there.

I hope it is true T5 and your Dad gets it.

Ain't that the truth.. I have a friend who just bought a '70 Superbee 383 auto car for $500 from a junkyard, today !!!   ...... It's a complete car, albeit it'll need a total resto......... So, yes, they are still out there...........

We've all chased the "Hemi behind a barn" stories kid.  Every once in a while they turn out to be true.  Not for me yet, but I still go look too.

My dad restored it back in 2000 and I remember helping him put the engine in and holding the bumper in place when was bolting it in. And those endless hours of getting him coffee. And I still remember sitting there watching him in amazement. Also, I still remember playign Guns N Roses "Knocking On Heavens Door" over and over.

Heres a pic after it was done

And heres a 71 Camaro RS Z28 my dad restored also. (His friends owns the Camaro, the GSX and abunch more muscle cars). He let us take the Camaro to three shows before we moved. The picture is of me as a little kid with my 01 Charger hat sitting in the Camaro at the first car show we took it to. We got 1st place at the last car show (it was a Camaro Meet).

Very nice car Cody but BNB has a little bit of a point here... You could be out there doing a lot of things to the 69 that require no money to refurbish. Polishing, fixing, adjusting, etc..... You have nothing but time so get on it and do some of the tedious tasks that will make your car shine above all others.  I wish I had the time you have/had when I was your age and had that same opportunity(my dad could care less about cars).  Now show us some progress and start a new thread that starts with...."look what i fixed today"

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of yours because I wish I could have been in your position back then, but don't mess it away son!!!!!!  The computer will always be there and it is more satisfying to come on after a hard day of work, then working on your car, then coming to this site to update your thread and let everyone enjoy, encourage you to continue.... and learn from others(meaning possibly you someday)
