It's the 300 M, not the R/T so that's better, & we didn't head on which was just as likely to have happened givin the circumstances...
..as I was pulling into our favorite breakfast place with my GF and here's this retal malibu PARKED on the wong side of the ramp just around the bush, so i swerved between it and another vehicle that was exiting and managed to scrape the Chysler from the front Pass. door all the way back to the rear fender..
both doors are flattened in and the rear wheel well lip is mashed and scrapes thru the paint for two feet on either side,..
you guys think i should pay out of pocket as GF suggests?...
oh boy was i hot,..  :flame: still am actually..  :-\

Least you two are okay Dave. Cars can be fixed. Wish I could give you a good answer. But she might be right.

That sucks dude, I liked your 300! Hope you get it all sorted out!

What really pisses me off about fender benders is when we have to be afraid of our insurance companies. We pay all this money on our premiums and then when we actually do have an accident we are automatically programmed to want to pay for the repair out of our pockets so the rates don't go up. Even when it's someone else's fault we have to worry about it. :flame:

Yeah, I know what you mean....I had an accident a few years back was driving to get gas pulled into the station and was pulling up to the pump.  This guy decides to pull away from the pump across from the pump I'm pulling into, almost slams into me....I swerve to miss him and hit the concrete pole next to the pump messing up the bed of my truck..called insurance, figuring their fault right...NOPE my fault because the car that did it never touched me and left and I was the only one with damage....So becareful.  You swerved and hit other cars.....Your fault even though the car you swerved to miss was illegally parked.

PICS,PICS,PICS!!! :boogie:

J/K Man, that sucks. I'm glad it wasn't a worse story, though.

That reminds me...when I was about 8, we were travelling down a dirt road in our family sation wagon. We rounded a semi-blind corner & all we saw was the big grille of a '57 Chebby right in front of us, on OUR side of the road! :o
My Mom swerved to the left...he swerved right.
Head-on crash...but we were each only going about 35 & had slowed a bit before impact. I was in the back seat (no seatbelts) & ended up on the front passenger floor.

The other driver was vacationing from New Zeland & "forgot". ::)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Didn't the other guy have insurance? Did the cops come and ticket him? He should be paying not you.

according to my adjuster it's my fault,. he quoted that It's the responsibilty of "the driver to avoid a parked car" no matter where it is, even facing backward in the fast lane of a highway...

o.k.  im just gonna go shoot myself now!  :-\ who wants my cars?..

The70RT

If you say so.     Sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on how much you want to pay to get it fixed if you should pay yourself. I guess at some point you would out cost your insurance premium hike if any? Also what kind of driving record you have. If you could maybe try to do what you can on it yourself to save some cash.

Technically the Brit was on the right side of the road (to him)
if he was a tourist, he probably didnt know the rules about what side to park, In England noboy cares what side of the road, or which way the car faces. Here in the US, its usually only an Ordinance to make the cities look pretty (having all cars face the same way).
If he was parked, then I agree with your insurance, it is upto you to avoid him.
Would you try to avoid a child playing in the same spot (id hope so).
I feel sorry for you, as I too have scraped a car that I am very fond of, but again, it can be fixed .!!
