I'd like to contact him regarding some parts we talked about a long time ago. Doesn't 41husk leave nearby?

BTW, has anyone heard from Bill lately?

I have stopped by Kens several times and he is never there, I have left notes on the garage doors and left messages on the phone.  I got him at work last Friday.  He seems to be doing ok.  The road runner is still sitting out in the elements, the 440 out of the 69 he sold was in the shop for over a year.  They may have sold it if he owes any money on it.  I don't understand but he has lost the fire.  I would like to give him a hood or something to put in primmer and make a little money,  He doesn't sound interested, as soon as I started talking about some work on the car he said a customer had come in and he had to go.  He may have really been busy but I got the feeling he was blowing me off.

Considering what Ken went through with the 440, I can see why he totally lost intrest in the hobby if that is the case. I know the highly insane prices are slowly taking there toll on my intrest.

I have to agree with that! sometimes the prices these cars are fetching makes it real hard not to sell at least one of them.

Not just the 440 but the whole car. He really did seem burned out on the project. That's sad because it seemed like he was so close to being finished with it. The car was basically done, wasn't it?

It needs the floor replaces, and the rocker panels repaired.  Seats are out, need seat covers finished being put on them.

Engine RD rebuilt for it is in garage awaiting orange paint, and oil pan swap.

Needs some other stuff, but those are the biggies on the list.

*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

That's what I remember hearing. :yesnod:
I can't blame the guy though, he's had some really crappy luck the last few years & that's definitely gotta take it's emotional toll after a while. I've storta been there too at various points in my life, albeit to a lesser extent, so I can kind of understand. I've told people many times "why can't I just be interested in butterfly collecting?" It wouldn't cost anywhere near as much & I wouldn't need as much storage space.

I hope he'll find something he can enjoy, that will allow him to relax & just live.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Moparhound, did you get the 440 from Ken?  I called the shop Ken told me he had the 440 in to see what he owed to get it out.  The guy at the shop remembered the block but said that moter has been gone for months.  Ken had just told me a week ago he needed to check on it.  Now I am afraid they may have just got rid of it for storage.

That happened to a friend of mine once, he lost the original 396 to his '68 Cramaro because he left it there too long. The shop had the right to though, it was in the fine print of the work order he signed. :rotz: I think it was there a year.

No, it is a 440 I have had forever.  Bought car less engine.
