Wonder what this Y2 cars history is.It does show a owner in July 79 Colin Young Bakersfield.But I didnt find any dealer shipment info on it.On the daytona shipment list listings.

Another car has gotten around which is also a Y2 yellow .I loooked it over at mopars at carlisle.Thats still outhere somewhere

OK, Is it my imagination or is something wrong with the car...... If you notice the sequence # on the fender tag and core support,
they reflect: 386543 and the fender tag reads: XX29L9B386543.

BUT !!!!! Look at the broadcast sheet.....  B38654

Factory broadcast sheet mess up? Looks like they have one too many X's.......

Still don't understand that core support stamping.... Never seen it like that before.............

I think there are pictures of this on Youtube -- search Superbird, select ljr's slide show of his yellow Bird.  There are pics of a Daytona with the passenger side headlight slightly raised.  The other thread talked about the messed up core support stamping.

There is another Broadcast Sheet from that car which does not have the extra "X" and typing shift that the one posted in the eBay ad has.

Gene, as far as the broadcast sheet goes. Has anyone else seen the other broadcast sheet that doesn't have the digits one space too far to the right on the top line? And does the seller of the car have that other sheet as well? Not that I have the money for it or anything.

How was the drive back home for you. Mine was pretty good.

Danny, the other B-cast sheet without the typo was posted in that other thread.  I think UFO had posted it, from one of the wing club newsletters in '89.

Glad to hear your trip back to Indy was less of a headache than the trip up to MI.  I'd have gone nuts being stuck on the interstate for 4 hours like you were...

I do recall  reading that newsletter and Kevin S the pictured car didnt appear the Y2 yellow .The car was once red.And searching by this cars vin its advertised elsewhere besides ebay

Previous owner registered the car as having 109k way back when.    So it would be 123k on the clock.

Doug, just out of curiousities sake, but honestly how many of the Daytona's out there do you think are under 100K miles? I don't recall hardly any Daytona's from back when I was younger that weren't either over 100K already, or closing in on it. I would have to say that of the 5 Daytona's my dad had, I'd say 3 or 4 of them had over 100K on it easily. I don't think the Red on red AT car did though, I think it was pretty low, around 45K or so. The R6 red one though I know for sure was over 100K.

Actually, I don't think less than 100k miles is unusual at all.  Just because of the wierd factor, the amount of time these cars were used daily was probably less than other cars.   My car has about 70k on it now.   We bought it with 59k on it in 1979, and it sat from 1985 to 91, and again from 1993 to 2000 with only 65k on it.  I've put more miles on in the last 5 or so years as the previous 20 years.

Maybe I'm just thinking that I remember a lot of these cars being driven over the years. I don't remember hardly anyone who trailered their cars to any shows back in the 80's. Everyone drove them, it didn't matter if it was a local show or, 800 miles. Just get in and drive it.

I remember very vividly riding in the Daytona down to Talladega, and to Daytona for shows. I also remember riding in the HEMI 500 over to St. Louis, and even to Pigeon Forge. Heck we took the 6 pac Superbird on Vacation to South Carolina in 1983.
