Where can I get this electrical part?

I got a spare shifter just like this:



I'm going to clean it up, sandblast it, and repaint it. However, I have no idea what the electrical thing is. Mine is old and the wires are cracked. Does anybody know where to get a new one of these?

Some folks are saying it is for the Neutral Safety switch.  I searched YearOne and couldn't find anything that looks like that part.

It's the backup light switch, only needed on '68 and earlier. In '69 the BU light switch was incorporated in the transmission mounted NSS.

If you need the switch for a '68 and earlier installation the factory P/N is 2631039, check with one of the NOS vendors.
