Cool pics, Mike. My daughter and I get to go to Dover this year. Free tickets , get to hang out with Kasey Kahne. I can't wait. I use to work for Bobby Allen and he's good friends with Kasey. It should be a good time.

Sounds like a blast. Wish I could be there with you.  :yesnod:

Jackie,
That is awesome.  Yeah, i'm a goofball pretty much all the time.  Can't take life too seriously or you'll never get out alive!(what movie)

You aren't talking about Bobby Allen of the Boston Bruins are you?  ;D

Don't hit something and smash Kasey's car when you 2 are googling over him :icon_smile_big:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Nope, Bobby Allen as in the 1a sprint car driver. World of the Outlaws. :icon_smile_big:

Knew I was probably way off, my second guess was going to be a retired senior chief in the navy named bobby allen, also from Mass.

Still I ask, what movie did that line come from on the post above.  I guess i'll have to revive the silly movie quote game again, it's been a couple weeks, and if I remember right you dirted me out pretty badly when I was stumped on a couple. :icon_smile_big:............ok my fault cause I said I was good at movies but that hurt me, you cut me deep. :rotz:

Kidding, I have no feelings. :icon_smile_cool:

So, who's gonna win the race tomorrow???

I'm stumped. And you want me to think, today? LOL  As far as the race? I hope Kasey! But I'm not betting on it.

That is great. . . . .I am not 100 percent sure, correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like his buddy Jarrett used his last champions provisional. That means from now on if he does not qualify, he will not race as well.  :icon_smile_big:

After qualifying DW started bitching about how the top 35 in points was not fair, and NASCAR needs to look at a different way to do things when qualifying. It was fair before, but now that Mikey has not made a race it sucks.

I think he still has another one, but I'm not sure.

A moot point either way, since even if they had qualified strictly on time, Mikey would have been 45th anyway.

How many of these championship provisionals do you get?  He only won the title once correct?  ???

I read last week that toyota was shipping one of mikey's car back to their race development center to see why it sooooo slow. They should just ship mikey back since he's the problem.
Actually mikey is proving something that everyone else in NA$CAR knew (except mikey I guess). Being a owner/driver puts too much on your plate. Just ask Bill Elliot, Ricky Rudd or Geoff Bodine. If he was smart he would retire immediately and hire a young gun to drive the the NAPA car. Mikey was never more than a journey man driver with marginal talent, if Dale Sr. hadn't picked him to drive for DEI he'd already be in the truck series.

Several years ago you use to get 15-25 champion provisionals, that was the only way DW could qualify for the races for his last three years. AFTER he retired he started campaigning to NASCAR that everyone should qualify on time, and no one should be allowed a free pass.

Same with Richard Petty.   :shruggy:

There are way too many cars/drivers/sponsors showing up to try and qualify these days, so I also think it's time to do away with the free ride! :Twocents: Poor Richard and DW were only there to draw in spectators.

That's true. It was a shame to see these two driver's with 10 titles between them fade away like they did. It just irks me that AFTER DW retires he complains about the very rule that saved his hide numerous times.

Just read that ratings for the Bristol race were down 17% from last year, glad to see that the car of tommorrow is generating a new fan base. ::)

So now none of the Toyotas are in the top 35, and the next race (in 2 weeks) is at Texas, where all that aero stuff is important. It will also be a car of today race, and pretty much all of the Toyotas have struggled with it. It's entirely possible that only DJ will be in that race - using up his last champion's provisional. Say what you will about NASCAR, but changing that rule (limiting the champion's provisional use) was evil genius.

I never liked DJ, but ever since he sold his soul to the devil (not Toyota per se, but he did go after the big paychek and basically left the team that made his career high and dry) I really root against him.
