My dad's first car back in the day was a 1968 Charger, 383HP 4 speed.  Green with green vinyl top.  Does anyone know the production numbers on the 68's with the 383HP?  More specifically the 4 speeds?  I read somewhere a couple years back that only 257 of them were made?

Does the white book show how many 68's were built for Canada?  ???
"An aggressive exterior with power to match was enough to pull in the performance boys-especially when abetted by a pair of pipes blaring out the back, and brawny red-sidewall rubber hitting the pavement."

If it had a stock-issue 4bbl it would be an HP motor. It would be even more rare if it didn't have an HP motor.

Well, I don't know for sure.  My dad got rid of it back in '78.  I'm just going by what he said. I know it did NOT have A/C.  Does the white book show the production numbers for the 4 speeds?

There seems to be a common belief that 383-4bbl automatically equals 335 HP which is not true. I have been able to document '69 and '70 Charger with 383 - 4speed that do have the HP variant but not a 68 as of yet. Automatics do not have the HP engine as well as any A/C car. It would be more common for a Charger to have the 330 horse engine. Having a documented HP would be the exception.

It would be great to document a 68 built Charger 4 speed with HP engine. That can only be done via the broadcast sheet.
