Since we have cars we regret selling, anyone have a turd in the past they regret buying? (I did a quick search and didn't see this topic in the dim past but I apologize if it is)

For me it would be a 1980 Chevy Citation.
I don't know if I have any Mopars I regret buying.  Possibly the 69 Coronet 500 I had.  It was a money pit and I didn't drive it long before sending it to the crusher.  The Chev was the worst car I ever owned.  If somebody spit on the sidewalk close to where it was parked, I was walking to work for two days.  That is only the tip of the berg though.
The Coronet just needed a lot of things fixed and it was supposed to be a daily driver while the Super Bee was the fun car.  I couldn't be fixing two all the time.

2002 Olds Alero peice of crap.  Put wheel bearings in it almost every oil change......

Wheels of Terror

My white 84 Trans Am.  I have had three 84 T/As. I have an 86,82 currently. This particulatr one was also a money pit and a pain in my ass since day one. The fuel gauge broke the first trip home. I ran out of gas that same night coming home from work at 11:00pm. It over heated many times. I know the mid eighties small block Chebbies are known for that, but this one was a bitch. I went threw the whole cooloing system just to come down to a slightly clogged radiator. It did not overheat all of the time. Needless top say on the way to work one day, the head gaskets went.  Well, I did name this car "Lex". ::)  The funny thing is my beloved Charger "looks"(to me he looks mean) like it might not run. He runs really strong.  The T/A looked good and would have been a great H.O. T/a to restore, but left me stranded numerous times.

'82 Camaro, V6, 4-speed, it broke down on the way home from the dealership the day I bought it. How they could not figure out how to engineer a glove box into a car that large is beyond me. A salesman told me they were too small and there was no room, I told him it was odd they could find room for a glove box in Civics and Corollas. That car was just plain awful. The shifter snapped off the transmission one day. Couldn't reach it from underneath and had to pull the entire console out of the car to get to the bolts from above. They apparently assigned the engineering on that car to high school work study people.

my Charger..... I KEED I KEED! ;)

seriously though, I can't remember a car I honestly regret. Like I'm sure most of you have... I have owned over 50 cars. but I was very anal about what I bought to drive, or to sell. I would say the closest thing I have to regret was a 79 Porsche 924s. But not because it was a P.O.S. or anything, but because it was expensive to maintain, but thats about it.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

1990 Eagle Talon Tsi. When nothing was broke it was a fun car, but that only lasted a few days. The best thing that ever could happen to me was when a drunk forced me off the road and I totaled it, then I would get a new car!

Charger-Bodie

the worst car i ever owned was a 92 dodge dynasty and this was in 1994.  this is how it came about:
my first wife was pregnant and i wanted her to be safe of the road ect. no breakdowns with a newborn yada..at the time we were drive a 86 lancer that was my granpas car until he died it had 188,000 miles on it so we decide we need something newer for piece of mind and that, so we get this dynasty and 2 weeks after my daughter celena was born i get a call from my wife at that time "the car stopped going" long story short the tranny went out and she walked 4 blocks with a newborn ,so not that big of a deal we take it to the suposed best tranny shop aroud 1800.00 later we get the pos back working great ,3 weeks later the tranny locks up on the railroad crossing ,again she walks from the thing with a baby !! the tranny shop warrentied the tranny and we got rid of the pile of dynasy and bought a 78 magnum gt which she drove trouble free untill our second daughter was born and then a rebuilt a wrecked caravan for her to drive geez i hate that dynasty
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I cant really say I regret buying any of them really. I have had dozens of cars and truck and bikes. The one that was my least liked was a 74 Vega. It had a manual trans which was the only fun thing about that car. Otherwise it sucked. Next I would say was my 89 Lincoln Continental. It was the best driving car I have ever had. It also was the most expensive to keep running.

It's the turbo that made it a POS.

In '88 I was buying my first new car. Had to order it  ('88 Firebird FORMULA 350, red with Silver lower body stripe delete & T-Tops)  loved it but Pontiac said 3 months wait to come in, about a month into waiting happened by a dodge dealership and test drove a cheaper, New Blue Daytona Shelby Z. .............Somehow got talked into canceling my Firebird and taking same day delivery of new shelby Z. Car was alright for FWD but still regret canceling Pontiac til this day.    Wish I had some patience but couldn't wait , Salesman really gave me the razzle-dazzle!!

That's funny because I traded a 76 Ford f150 to the guy who I bought my Charger from, it's not two tone brown by any chance?

Old Moparz

It's ironic that one of the cars I regret selling, is also one I regret buying. My 1st '69 Charger was a money pit that cost me a fortune. I sold my Caddy wagon in 1981 & bought the Charger for $1600. It was a nice looking car, but I should have looked at other Chargers first, & not just other cars. Comparing identical cars would have given me a better picture of what I would have gotten. I had looked at 6 or 7 cars in my price range, but this was the only Charger.

It had nice paint & new carpet.  (hiding bondo & rust)
It had a rebuilt 383 HP.  (but still abused & maybe not the best rebuild)
It had a rebuilt 727.  (but lines were crushed & trans died a week later)

Normal issues had to be taken care of over a period of time, like brakes, ball joints, & other mechanical things that wore out, but to have to spend money on a trans, motor work, electric gremlins, & other things, adds up. I was in college at the time & every penny from my part time job went into the car. The final straw was when the timing chain went & taken the rest of the motor with it. I had had the car less than 3 years at this point, but I decided the car needed too much body work to justify rebuilding the motor & bailed on it.

I hunted for another Charger with a better body to use mine as a parts car, but never found one. That's when I opened up to other B-Body cars & found my 1970 GTX that had a nice body but needed a motor rebuild. Of course that car never made it home in one piece & I became the proud, broke, owner of two pieces of shit that didn't run.   ::)

well it was a ok car not a great car just an o.k. '89 Chrysler New Yawker Mark Cross edition black with bordello burgandy leather interior...
like i said it wasn't a bad car we simply were not a good match, i bought it as a 14,000 mile cream puff owned by a church. I  talked the dealership down from $ 5,800  :flame: to 1,300 dollors  :icon_smile_approve: and promptly drove the crap out of that old persons car,.. I could see if you were a really conservative driver it might last you many, many  years, but it lasted me a year. cooling system, electrical the brakes, struts and tires all crapped out within days.

at least two are MOPARS!!!  I loved my 95 neon  it was the best car even though I had problems with it.  Every time it rained and I put the heat on the pass. floor would be a lake!!!!  LOL  But I did love that car...had it for 96-01??  The car I regret buying?  HMMM would have been hubby's firebird..that thing was a piece of you know what.  We had it for a month before we junked it...waste of money....Our blazer wasn't much better didn't have that one long before tranny blew and we junked it.  But when we got married it was our transportation to the reception and what not...we actually have a pic in our wedding album of us sitting in it!!!
