Does anyone know the number of teeth a 3.91 Ring Gear would have????
The Ring Gear is a Richmond Gear.

Ring gear has 43. Pinion has 11.

can't you just get a caliper and measure the pinion stem diamiter ?

Don't go by the ring gear alone, 4.30 gears also used the 43 tooth ring gear. (43-10)

I have a 489 case.  I called Richmond Gears. www.techsupport@richmondgear.com 
I found a # on the Ring & Pinion, They said it was a 3.91 set.   
FYI they were very helpfull...
