What size is the defroster duct on a 2nd gen?

I need diameter and length if anyone has it. The duct in my car was replaced by some hillbilly using some stiff foil junk so the original is long gone. I have a possible source for a good generic replacement but I need to know what size it is.

How are you going to measure the length if it's installed?

charger490

have you got a pic of what they look like i have some peices that i will look at if you have a pic

bull

They're just black duct, probably around 2.5" to 3" in diameter I guess. I can figure out the diameter but it's the length I really need.

Does anyone reproduce these for a non A/C heater box?

I was referring to diameter...after all, that is the most important measurement, right?  :D

That's what the radio commercials say.

each end is different size on the hose...one end is larger then the other if I remember

Old Greg

not to hijack but can someone post some pics of what the defroster setup on a 2nd gen looks like?

green69rt

Pics of my old dash.  I'll look at the size tomorrow, if nobody comes to the rescue before then.

bull

Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting an answer. While you're at it could I get you to take a pic of how the hoses are held on to each end?

I swear someone was selling this stuff but I sure can't find it now. All I see for sale is defroster hose for A/C cars.

Ditto, 2 1/4 inside dia hose, about 2 1/2 outside.  Hoses on my car are just slip-on, no clamps, etc.  But I seem to remember that there are some little tits on the heater and vents that hold the hoses on, maybe just wishful thinking.

Bull, I have a set, that looks like the ones in the pic, very nice condition.  They are 2.25" wide, 14" on one, 19" on the other in lenght.  I would sell them to you for shipping and $10.00, does that sound good?  MPJ

Now that you tell me the length I'm wondering how you're supposed to measure them? Stretched, compressed or halfway in between.

Anyway, that does sound good. I'll send you a PM.
