If there are no humans in the movie "Cars" why does the minivan that passes Mack on the freeway have a matress strapped on top?

What makes you think talking cars can't find a use for mattresses that humans haven't thought of?

Maybe they don't use them the same way we do....maybe they are like sponges to us.

Maybe they use mattresses to line the garages of old cars in case of overnight 'accidents'. You know, kind of like Depends for us.

You would think so but that's not it. My mind gets bored at work so I sometimes come up with worthless yet philosophical quandaries to annoy you with.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Maybe the Cars do the nasty and they didn't want to do it on blacktop? Did I say that out loud? :D

It's not a matress, it's a sanitary napkin. Never know when you'll need one.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

The real question is why are there mini-vans at all? Who are they hauling around anyway? ???

And, why is Bessie (the asphalt paving machine) immobile, when everything else with wheels could dance the tango?

So we are to rationalize a cartoon movie? Why is everything in the background made of car parts i.e. flo's garage, the mountain ranges, etc. That would be like humans living in the house of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Bones for signposts, skulls for balls....
Do the cars have lungs and need oxygen? How can they talk? Voice boxes? How can a rigid structure like a car have joints and flexibility like a person? Do they reproduce or is there some bizzare assembly shop? How can they create life from an inanimate object? How did they evolve? On which part of the planet or dimension do they exist. They are somewhere on Route 66, so how come no person has seen them? Did they wipe out the human race in order to take over? Even Stephen King's  short story Trucks (made into Maximum Overdrive) needed people to service them. Why do they need sleep? What part of them regenerates from rest and how is this possible?

The World may never know...

Hey that reminds me:

My CARS question is how can they stay in business if nobody ever stops in town to buy anything?

The best part is when Luigi is trying to sell snow tires and they live in the desert!.
